Hi everyone,
I'm facing a really strange and specific issue with Opera on my Android phone (Pixel 7, latest Android OS and Opera versions). I hope someone here might have an idea what's going on.
I enjoy playing a web-based version of Among Us in my browser to pass the time. Recently, a weird bug started happening only when I use Opera: I get assigned the Imposter role every single game. Literally, always imposter. At first, it was fun, but now it's just predictable and strange.
Here's what I've tested:
When I use Chrome or Firefox on the same phone to play the exact same game, the roles are assigned randomly as they should be.
This proves the issue is not with the game server itself, but something related to how Opera is communicating with it.
My theory is that this might be caused by one of Opera's unique features. Maybe the built-in VPN or the aggressive ad/tracker blocker is sending a consistent "fingerprint" to the game's server, which results in this among us always imposter bug.
For full transparency and so you can see exactly what I'm talking about, this is the specific version I'm playing. It's a popular "always imposter" practice version that works perfectly on other browsers. I'm trying to get it running on Opera because I genuinely prefer Opera for everything else.
Here is the link to the version I am using:

My questions for the community are:
Has anyone ever experienced a browser's built-in VPN causing weird, predictable behavior in a web-based game?
Are there any settings in Opera's Privacy & Security section (like the tracker blocker level) that I should try changing?
Could this be a cache issue? I've cleared the basic cache, but is there a "deeper" clean I should perform?
I really want to keep using Opera as my main browser, so any help to solve this among us always imposter mystery would be awesome.
Thanks!
