This thread is the best! My fellow dark moders Unite!!! I'm just using regular Opera. It's coo, although I have recently started using MS Edge and I got to tell you, they are getting it pretty good as far as browsers go.

Otherwise, extensions authors would need to fix it

Yes plz make vertical tabs, almost all major browser got them as an option. Almost all sites are optimized for phones and content is dense in the midlle of the page, so vertical tabs uses vertical side space that is usualy empty and gives more real estate to the site content.

Regarding Tab Islands, as @MohamedSahal mentioned we love this feature too.

We have many ideas on developing AIR, including tab islands. However, it can't be just a "copy".
For sure, we want it to be more AIR-like. So, it will happen in some way, but I can't share when exactly.
