Current design of frosted glass blends well with current wallpaper, making this seemingness experience.

However, I know users like to colorize UI by themselves, which is totally cool.

We don't have a plan for such customization now, but might consider in the future.

We made some in-depth testing and didn't find any anomaly related to the installer.

There is something on your computer, that is running 7-zip in 32-bits, even when it was uninstalled.

You can double-check if you don't have some old instances in Control Panel/Programs and Features.

Thank you for your patience. Please find our answer below. It’s a short summary after longer investigation and conversations with the team.

Tab Islands / Tab groups
We decided TI, in its current shape, doesn't fit AIR’s vision and is not aligned with UI. Therefore, it remains disabled to avoid unexpected experiences. We plan to adjust it in future and enable it in AIR, but currently it’s not our priority.
While doing the investigation for you, we were also searching for a solid workaround within the code but didn’t find anything of enough quality.

Extensions from chrome: store
Opera is not Chrome and vice versa. They're specific features that are not available in other browsers. There is a reason for it, and it impacts many things. That’s we have a dedicated store for extensions, which is maintained by a dedicated team. It’s still possible to install many of the chrome extensions outside the store, but we can’t guarantee their functionality.

Vertical tabs
This is an old topic among Opera users, but the answer remains the same. There are currently no plans of supporting such functionality in any Opera.
The vertical tab extension you mentioned from Addons.opera.com is something made by an external user. It’s not our implementation, but was reviewed and accepted by us.

Hmm. So it's some unusual situation.

My current suggestions:

• try to uninstall 7zip and try to install Opera Air again
• try to install with disabled antivirus (if it's not a system default) we had some cases in which some antivirus were blocking the installation

Let me know if anything helps. Otherwise, I will pass this case to our QA team for further investigation.

Oh, ok, I get it.
It's actually the first time someone is asking about such feature. We're not working currently on this part of the browser, however this is an idea worth exploring in the future.

I can confirm, there are no plans to release Opera Air for Linux. It might change in the future, but it's not something on our current radar.

However, thanks for sharing, this is very interesting.
