I also face this kind of ad showing problem.
Ads are annoying !!!!
I turned off "Lock Screen News" also turned off "Start Page Content" and turned off "News Notification"
But still I'm getting those annoying news ads.
Opera Mini disappoints us. Thumbs Down. Booooo !!!!!
Same problem on version 23. And those interstitial ads also quite annoying. Youtube page used to be compressed, but now its always load the uncompressed page. Maybe someday they will remove compression completely on all pages. Dissapointing.
In the new OM if for example I restart the phone then when I come back to mini, it will reload all the opened pages when the old just read them in the memory.
That is the reason I am moving to old version
Opera Mini is totally nothing but a dumbass about file downloading from internet.
We continuously report to upgrade Opera Mini's downloading feature. but Years & years passing by and the developers doesn't care at all.
Use UC Browser instead. UC has powerful download manager & UC handles better downloading management.
i don't know what happend. but the browser reverted to the normal stage. the bottom menues are back. it was a kind of full screen function for one tab before. problem solved itself.
You can request such configuration via business enquiries form: http://www.operasoftware.com/company/contact/form
In Extreme mode our servers download all resources for your page, render the page and then send result to the client (for example in Africa). As long as there is a reasonable link between your web server and Opera Mini servers, the distance is not that important. Most typically problems with long page loading are caused by some JavaScripts and ad frameworks.
Opera Mini does not support that. Even Opera for Android doesn't support extensions. On desktop systems there are programs called "spiders" which will download all the links on a given page, but I couldn't tell you if there are similar programs for Android.
@lukas-kasticky, when you develop for Opera Mini, turning off data saver is not a solution for you website not working properly. If you want to make sure your website works for most of the users please check it against Extreme mode, which is what most users use.
I also recommend you take a while to understand how Opera Mini works, as understanding that in Extreme mode pages are rendered on our servers and not on the phone is a key to making sites that work well:
