I cannot open it with Opera Mini, it says transcoder timeout for me. It's not a new development, I tried it a while ago and I could not access it with Opera Mini then either.

Could you try it if it works for you? It's quite a well known site, so I'd be surprised if it were completely inaccessible with Opera Mini.

When I'm near to the end of my data limit then I switch of images completely at data savings. It works well for sites, but Opera Mini's news reader (under the speed dial) still loads preview images, regardless of this setting.

Please fix this, because data saving is a main feature of Opera Mini and when I turn off images then I want to turn them off everywhere to save data.

BTW, it worked like that previously then in some recent update the news reader started ignoring the images off setting.

Better than that is opt-out function for cookies as private file. See AppChoiches apk & DAA site, Opera Mini will never kill third-party cookies in settings that's for sure.

I didn't talk about killing any cookies. I want to hide the cookie warning displayed by sites. That's a piece of javascript code on the sites, just like ad code, so I'd like to have those annoying site-displayed warning messages blocked, not the cookies themselves.

Beside the adblocker a cookie consent warning blocker would also be very useful. Those consent popups are very annoying, so it would improve the browsing exprience if they could be hidden automatically. There are several popular cookie consent libraries, so Opera could block those automatically.

@kcinnick, we've fixed the news reader issue in March (server side fix), so it should work no matter which categories are enabled or disabled.

Thanks, it does work. Though I don't how I should have known about this fix. It seemed like an app issue and I thought I had to wait for a new app version. There should be some notification for such bugs fixed outside of app downloads. But I'm glad it's working.

Tap "Customize" and enable all the categories (There is a bug if you just disable Arts or Business, then Discover does not show articles)
Enable/Disable News in Settings > Advanced > Start page content

It's high time this problem is fixed, because the news reader is much less usable if I cannot filter categories. Shouldn't you publish a quick fix for that? When is the next version expected?

Ah yes, the second suggestion helped, if I enable all categories then the show more button works. Thanks. Though it would be better of course if I could disable some categories, because that's what I usually do.

I upgraded to the latest Opera Mini and the newsreader (Discover) feature stopped working. I have a customize button under the speed dial which leads me to a configuration page where I can choose a language and news categories like before, but not news show up. There is a "show more" button beside customize, but it is grayed out, so I can't press it to actually fetch news.

Please advise what to do. I rely on this news reader feature when travelling, so it's important it's working. If it's a bug, please fix this. I'm on Android 6 and installed the latest Opera mini. The previously installed opera mini version worked fine with news reading, but the new one shows nothing, because the show more button is disabled.

So I sometimes see spurious traffic coming from Opera Mini servers, like fetching the same boring page many thousand times, throughout the day at regular intervals and stuff.

Is there an address or contact where this kind of suspicious activity can be reported?
