Hi,
recently I switched from Win 11 to Linux Mint 22.2 and installed Opera for Linux 125.0.5729.49 as I was using Opera in Win for ages.
Unfortunately, I immediately noticed that colours are bleached as opposed to the colours in other applications and the Linux system itself.
After search of advice on the web, I switched off hardware acceleration... and it worked -> colours are correctly saturated. However, the Opera browser is SOOOO SLOW now!!! It is lagging all the time, it takes ages to display anything... It is so much annoying! Btw, my CPU and GPU are more than capable, I am running on AMD Ryzen 9 7900X and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT. There is also correct amdgpu driver installed (xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu 23.0.0-1ubuntu0.24.04.1 amd64). Anyway, to prevent blaming my HW and SW, once again, the bleached colours issue exists only in Opera, all other applications and the system itself are perfectly fine...
Therefore. dear Opera team, thank you for advice but switching HW acceleration off is not the solution to address bleached colours!!!
Please find the way how to properly implement colour management in browser for Linux having HW acceleration on. If it works in Win, it must work also in Linux, and it is your responsibility to make it work.
Knowing how IT supports work in general, I would like to stress - please do not disregard this comment. I am patient but not forever. You do not want to loose another long-time user...
Thank you!
Now, turning to the forum users - is anybody aware of any acceptable solution even before (and if) Opera developers correct the issue?
