@mahotilo If the page supports reader mode, you will see the icon to enable it in address bar.

@cvm I don't even see a setting for it. And why it should be enabled by default?

Opera 79 was released just ~2 weeks ago.
Usually it takes ~1,5 months between releases..

@andrew84 Chromium has a one month release cycle now.

@leocg: Why it should be enabled by default? Because when you want use it then you must go to experiments and change flag for Reader mode from "Default (D)" to "Enable" and relaunch browser.

@leocg: why is the stable opera on android so rare? after all the chromium vulnerabilities are there as well ... at least there could be security patches = newer chromium more often

@cvm Maybe they still don't want it to be enabled to everyone?

@adam1709 No idea, you will have to ask in the Mobile blog or in the Opera for Android forum.

No update available yet for Chromebook/Linux ... I am not upset ... I am patient. 🙂

@leocg: Then it means the feature is not stable/not ready yet. But they present it as ready option. (no word in the blog post that this feature is under development and disabled in flags)

Hi! I updated to Opera 80. But Reader mode didn't show at any website. So, I enabled this feature at opera://flags/ . I became to use this feature. So, I think Opera staff forgot to enable this feature.

How to return the previous display of tab icons? in version 79, even if there are a lot of tabs opened, they are distinctly different, in the new version they just became white and indistinguishable.

@leocg: Windows 11 being released had nothing to do with it I presume.

@hectormaciasa1979 To what? If you are talking about the change in Chromium release cycle, I don't think so, It had been announced already a while ago.

On my machine scrolling is jerkier with Opera 80, while it was silky smooth with 79.0.4143.72. ( [AMD/ATI] RS780L [Radeon 3000] on Fedora )
