Now that Opera One has Early Bird, when creating a new forum thread or Reddit it post, it'd be a good idea to mention whether you have Early Bird on or off. And, if it's on, it'd be good to mention the state of each specific Early Bird setting.

@ironbone it's simply because of bugs in chrome/chromium and it seems that's why Opera dosn't stack it's browser on latest versions.

useful tool really

An ongoing issue with how Opera is framed on my desktop. First, I'm running Debian 'sid' with what I believe is its most default windowing environment: Gnome (49.1) with its Mutter window manager, a Wayland session, and 'adwaita' theme.

Long ago, Opera offered to frame its windows with the operating system / window manager's widgets, or Opera's own; but I can no longer find this option, so the only choice is 'Opera's own'; which means the window lacks normal widgets like 'close', 'minimize', etc. But it still has a drag handle area in the top bar (small bits of it, away from the various browser widgets).

The problem: subwindows also lack these widgets, and do not have a drag area. I am thinking particularly of the Inspector window, when it is detached from the browser window. It has no place to grab and drag.

So in sum: Linux:Gnome:Mutter:Wayland:Opera, detached Inspector window has no window manager widgets, particularly no drag area.

@pcurtin It looks like, just like Aria and Neon, the AI features in Opera One are not available in Hong Kong.

Since Opera is a European company, it would make sense to rely on AI models that aren’t geo‑restricted, for example, using GPT through Azure OpenAI instead of directly via OpenAI, or even European models like Mistral.

If that isn’t possible, then at least hide the AI options for regions where they can’t be used. It’s frustrating to see these features promoted, only to get an error saying they’re unavailable in my location due to geo‑political restrictions especially when competing browsers like Firefox and services like Microsoft Copilot work perfectly fine here.

FYI: With the new AI I get generic error message: An error occurred while processing your request. Please reload or try again later.
