You have plans to improve how the modules visually are separated, especially web page content?

The border around web page content bothers me. I'd prefer no bold black (white in light theme) borders between web page and display's edges (including bottom). And no border between edge of the screen and sidebar or scrollbar.

As a workaround disable these 2 flags and the old popup will be back.

Remove the same purple selection for menus and dropdowns for both dark and light themes. Make it look normal and pleasant to eyes like in other browsers or software. It means different gray accents for dark and light themes instead of the bright purple.

Instead of simply improving/restyling the existing TabMenu and adding a search field there they replaced it with a part taken from the removed 'InstantSearch' feature (InstantSearch had the 'search for tabs' feature, by the way, but it was said that the InstantSearch was unpopular feature that's why it was removed. So it's worth asking why we have a part from unpopular feature in the top right corner now).
Now they are trying to recreate the already existing and well working tabs management popup (I mean Tab Menu), but it seems that the final result (regarding the functionality) will be worse anyway than the existing one. That what I can call as 'wasted developers resources'.

Maybe there should be a slider to adjust the level of sharpness.

On the other hand, why only sharpness?
There are also saturation, brightness, contrast adjustments I used to see in built-in options in players on web pages.

And not just a try, it really improved the tabs management, and 'Search in tabs' worsened it.

I just don't stop to wonder to all these unnecessary border jumble.
For example when the sidebar is in auto mode.
Sidebar's top/bottom parts look egg shaped, one border looks over another because of the bad shadowing, some curve and 'dirty' rounded corner, still holes when the sidebar panel is opened.
Who designed this, why and what for it was designed in this way??

@orewayaya I don't use GX but in stock Opera version the feature is already implemented but still hidden in flags. I believe it's more than a year already since the flag first appeared and it's still disabled for some reason(under development).

Regarding the second suggestion there was multiple reports already. Other browsers (Edge, Chrome ) allow to select and move multiple tabs. Looks like this an default Chromium's behavior, not clear why Opera can't

@andrew84 Also, as was mentioned earlier, there's no indication for the currently active section (highlighting box or bold text).

And there should be button to show all the categories at once.

The logic is not correct at all.
If the VPN feature is disabled, then no badge should be displayed. If enabled, then the badge should allow to turn VPN on/off. Like it worked before.

I guess the items should be viewed as rows.
Also, it tells me that VPN is enabled even if the VPN feature is off.

My suggestion is that the redesigned search popup could have the solid 'water drop' bottom arrow instead of the separate 'dot', there should be hand cursor on hover and all the buttons should be in expanded view instead of the icons (that's why also don't like the popup in Edge). And obviously the popup should be dark in dark mode and light in light mode.
Also, the buttons should react earlier as soon as cursor touches the padding border.

Why there's no mention regarding the redesigned search popup?
It's now enabled by default but as was mentioned earlier there were no changes since the time the flag was yet disabled by default.

It still looks bad with these irritating expanding (flickering) oversized buttons on hover and extra converter pane at the bottom.

There's no shadow for the sidebar's edge in autohide mode.

And some icons for the categories are barely visible in Settings.

The flag (#overlay-scrollbars) doesn't fix the scrollbar. It just changes its behavor.

No scrolling no visible scrollbar (so can't drag)
While scrolling the narrow bar appears
On hover the same ugly scrollbar appears.

EasySetup still closes while trying to grab and drag its scrollbar if the cursor is on the 1px content border (the bug persists since the autumn 2025 since 122 version > https://forums.opera.com/post/394135).

And despite of being reported the 'force dark page' switch doesn't remember its state after themes switching and theme tile's menus don't reset and stay open on hover in reopened EasySetup >https://forums.opera.com/post/398589

And in Settings there's still a glitch with dark mode's force dark page switch (was reported multiple times as well).

@KenedSF I'd better prefer the universal toolbar's popup (Media center) like in Chrome/Edge so is no need to search or remember tabs playing sound currently (especially if there are many tabs open or tab is inside other workspace or collapsed island).

The con (quite significant) of the popup that there's no sound control so after implementing the volume controls it'd be ideal solution.

Improved UI positioning of Download popup in Split Screen

Here the Extensions popup is misplaced a bit in default mode during many builds already (in Stable also). The right border is cut.

Scrollbar is thick and simple comparing to Stable.
