@hectormaciasa1979: Elements on side panel are at the bottom, we should be able to move them around or select top as an option.

@ess-es-1868: I'm not a fan of the new look (liked the old a lot) but I can live with it. There may be a big improvement in the multi-tab/extensions memory usage of around 300MB, which would be a massive win for me and stop me going to Sidekick.
'Painting' seems a lot faster.. 50%?
We have tab grouping at long last. The "islands" are a little tall at the moment for me.

There's a usability problem with tabs that play sound -- the 'x' to close them is no longer visible. I have ~25 tabs/islands.

Apart from the weird blobby look, it's all a big win for me.

If the Opera One is very early access version, maybe it should have a separate parallel branch I think (like gx and crypto). When it'll be ready then replace the current regular version.
I very doubt that all the issues will be fixed until it becomes Stable, taking into account that versions lifecycle become shorter recently.
I think it'll take months to 'stabilize' the One version like it happened with Reborn 3.

I much prefer the traditional Opera to the proposed new "improved" one which I think is ugly. I've tried the AI and had difficulties not least actually being able to log on to the services. Frankly I don't see the point of AI in a browser as basic as it is currently: if I want information I like to search for it manually myself rather than have clipped versions of it served up by an not-to-smart neural net or algorithm: I much prefer managing my tabs manually as well and wonder how many longstanding Opera users feel the same way. Only time will tell by maybe the time has come for me to move to Vivaldi. I would be sorry to do this because, for a very long time, Opera has always been The browser for me.

@hectormaciasa1979 if this is a real modular design, I should be able to customize and move the modules where I want.
It means that I can drag address bar above tabstrip or put tabstrip at the bottom or to the left/right (it means vertical tabs). The same is with sidebar.
But I doubt how necessary it is and I don't think the modules will be moveable because of developing time-consuming to adopt the modules to look and work well together.

@hectormaciasa1979: Thanks for the feedback. When you import, do you bookmarks land in the other folder in Bookmarks (other than Speed Dial), or they don't show up at all?

@joannaczajka This went away after restart. It started when I started to empty my workspaces and on certain workspace was emptied. Maybe I clicked close button in empty workspace and then switched to my main workspace and then closing tabs triggered this same message. Does not happened again when restarting browser.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others. ...

@andrew84: In deed, the combination of using workspaces and tab islands might be very interesting and personal. For example, you can have workspaces for: your own daily browsing, planning a summer trip, family stuff. And then inside a workspace, lets say - summer trip - you can end up with a clearly grouped tabs in islands for hotels, flights, trains etc. - because those islands would be created on the go, when you were exploring possibilities.

@joannaczajka Ok. That was just a notice.
Personally, I usually don't use workspaces and hardly I will be using the islands.

What really bothers me is that there's a frame around web page in new design. Posted also here https://forums.opera.com/post/307792
And the frame also persists for full screen videos. Posted by other user

What really surprised me is that there's still the old square context menus (from O58 era) with the high contrasting highlighted items in dark mode (from reborn 3), according to this post https://forums.opera.com/post/307427

@kened I think the sidebar is needlessly wider but, of course, it can be hidden -- but I prefer to have it visible most of the time. The sidebar's presence was a big turn-off for a longterm Firefox user I know, who'd deleted Opera before I had a chance to say it could be hidden.

Anyway, I want more choice in sizes, colours, icons etc. We had choice in the Presto days. These days I use an extension to force the active tab to the far left or right, because there's so little contrast in the design. There used to be a "BeOS" theme with a yellow active tab and the rest black. Vivaldi is catering better for my ageing eyes, at the moment. Are "hip" users Opera's actual market share?
