@stolis First, Opera has some dozen of millions of users, so ten, twenty people don't seem to represent the majority of users.
Also, as usually always happen, the ones who didn't like the change are more active, making it look like they are a majority.

First: Opera used to have a dozen of million users. There’s a dozen of “desktop browsers market share” sites, showing the exact opposite. Worldwide-March 2020, opera 2,37% usage. Source https://gs.statcounter.com/browser-market-share/desktop/worldwide and many others. There’s no need mentioning.

Second: If you-they consider that the 50% of complaining posts about the withdrawal of previous instant search feature represent a minority of users, I’ve got nothing to say.

Third: The major problem every time they add a new feature, is that they also remove any kind of option for disabling them. At least in most of the cases. Allow me to say that this behavior doesn’t look nice. It seems like they don’t really care about their users. Now you might say that this is just a personal point of view which doesn’t represent the majority of opera users, but on the other side the complaining posts shows the exact opposite. Unless I have to return back to school to learn math’s from the beginning, cause it seems I can’t really understand the meaning of numbers.

So, I’d really like to know how they end up taking decisions about the usability of features if they don’t give attention on users complains in their own blog? From where they get the numbers you-they are talking about? Seems like their ignoring them.

Eventually even the existence of this blog turns to be useless as well.

@andrew84 Search in Tabs has an interesting feature in latest developer build that, depending on how it evolve, may bring back one of my favorites features of Opera Presto.

One of your "favorite feature". So, if the rest of us who want back the previous search feature trying to look like the majority, what are you doing?

@stolis 1 ) It's 2,37% of how much? Since there is no such info, the one I provided is still valid.

2 ) Like I said, those who are more unsatisfied with something tend to complain more, so it may look like if there was a huge number of people doing it. Many people also complain when a feature is added.

It's true. Those who are very unsatisfied decided to write in the blog and on forum (or even registered to post comments). So you don't take into account those users who are just unsatisfied (not very, but unsatisfied) but don't want to register and post comments.
The similar hype in comments was when Opera implemented the 'promotional bookmarks' feature, and after many complains they added a toggle in Settings. Also there was many complains about small tiles on Speed dial in Reborn3, and the 'big tiles' toggle was added.
We don't talk here that the 'majority' of users use InstantSearch or TabMenu, but there are quite enough users who use it.

Did you see much complaints regarding the features that can be switched off? For example, I don't use the InstantSearch, so I just disabled it and forgot. I also don't use Ctrl+tab cycler, I also don't use MyFlow, CryptoWallet, Weather, Workspaces (in current view). But all these features can be turned off and no complains here.

                1. Can you give me your source then, about the dozen of millions?

                2. It bothers me when you insist saying that few users trying to exaggerate about it. Beside that, the more of us are complaining about the absence of leaving an option for users to decide if they want to use new features or not. We didn't ask to remove the new one added.

                3. As i said, where are the numbers that make them take this removing decision? Did't got any answer to this.

Does your own "favorite feature" automatically makes it useful for the rest of users?

                  That simple!

                    Bring back the Instant Search.
I just revert back to version 67.0.3575.97 because this feature was completely gone.

@andrew84 For sure Opera takes those users in consideration. However, we should remember that Opera knows how many people were/are using a feature and if it really worth keeping it available.

@Iriz We're pretty much all complaining about that here. I am also very pissed off. I just sent a twitter PM to opera, hope they will respond.
                                PS: IU good.

                                  1. One more reason why opera keeps falling in browsers usage stats. Lack of options.
                                  2. So, due to their internal statistics found out that tab search is more useful for users, despite the number of continuing complains about it. Ok then. Nothing more to say.

Where the button to simply open closed page? It was earlier in place of "Search in tabs" button.
