This is not malware, but CSS rules of the internal adblocker preventing display of porn ads etc. Basic structure of rules is
:root a[href^="https://adclick.g.doubleclick.net/"] { display: none !important; }
which only searches for evil URLs to make bad links invisible.
How can I make smaller the size of tabs and windows?

This was the narrow sidebar vs the full one on osx

Now you can only disable it and get the top bar only:

@krischik I also liked the wide version because the vertical arrangement of the button is strange for me.

Hope it comes back , or we can make a feature request to out the setting back, maybe they forgot it 🙂

I apparently solved this issue at last by disabling the AdGuard extension that was installed on my Opera browser. You could possibly try to remove some of your Opera addons and check.

Navigated to Opera in applications folder
Right-clicked for Show Package Contents
Opened Contents
Opened MacOS
Tossed autoupdate and autoupdate installer.
I hate applications installing software without asking and I hate applications communicating with websites without asking (I use LittleSnitch for the latter).

It upgraded to 70 last night after the tabs were gone. The workspaces are there, but there is nothing inside of them. I had five workspaces. I even lost the pinned tabs on my main workspace so even that one. Most of the stuff from my main workpace I had bookmarked thankfully.

@nsek I just wish Opera would address the problem of pages flickering and failing to load. I don't want to go back to Chrome (or Safari), but if the issue isn't sorted soon I'll have no choice.

Same problem here, but with almost all videos. If you open a video in a fullscreen mode, after you close fullscreen the browser does not have any tabs or side panel or anything, only the current tab. By clicking escape button you can transform fullscreen opera back to tab view, but only as a window on the main screen, and it seems impossible to enter normal fullscreen browser without shutting it down first. Before the update to Opera 70 (which i did not ask for) everything worked fine.
