I truly hoped the latest update would have fixed the severe lag Opera has exhibited lately, but no. It is very, very slow at times when clicking on a link. I often have to stop it, and try again. That sometimes works, and sometimes it doesn't. It happens on many pages, and makes reading forums an exercise in frustration. Often nothing happens after clicking a link, it just spins, showing it is trying to load.

I have FIOS with 200 Mbps, provisioned for 300 Mbps, and the speed is confirmed with Speedtest. I have no issues with Firefox, or Safari. I would much rather be using Opera, but I have had to go back to Safari until Opera is fixed.

I had to restart my computer today, and in doing so, I shut down Opera, and of course restated it after restarting the computer. First off, I don't like auto updates. Opera updated to 70 when I opened it back up. Okay, fine, but secondly, if you are going to force updates, at least get them right. Your "update" logged me out of every website I was logged into.

The "update" also lost all my preferences for websites as well.

I had stopped using Opera once it broke the gestures in Mac. Your developers took their sweet time fixing that fiasco. I almost never came back to Opera, but I happened to read that gestures had been fixed, so I began using it again. Today, this idiocy. I'm sorry, but logging back into 20+ websites is a royal pain, and totally unnecessary if you apply your updates correctly.

In the future, please actually test your forced updates. In the meantime if you need me, I'll be logging back into websites, and then I'll be looking for ways to disable your forced update idiocy.

Interestingly, based on a comment I read on another post, I placed the cursor on the side of the window, so the cursor changes to the resize cursor, and then tried to swipe back, that worked. Of course that won't work for normal browsing, but it was interesting.

It is beyond ridiculous. I have use Opera for years, but have switched back to Safari since the swipe no longer works. Opera has gotten much slower as well. I was pleasantly surprised when I went back to Safari, it was so much faster.

I use Firefox for Facebook exclusively, and use it for nothing else, to cut down on tracking. I use Opera for everything else.

I keep checking back to see of Opera has corrected their issues, but so far, no. I used to recommend it to friends and clients, but no longer. How a company can go so long without responding to user complaints regarding a broken feature, one that isn't even part of the software itself is beyond me.
