As always after tinkering with something for a while and then asking the internet, I figured it out just after posting, duh..

Just for the record, I had the Zenmate extension running. Sorry for bothering cyberspace..
Is there an older version of Opera that I can use on a MacBook running OS X 10.6.8?

At the top right of the mail screen, there's a slanted wrench icon on the toolbar. You can click it to change the layout.

Or, if needed, close down Opera and delete autosave.win in the sessions folder. See "Help -> about Opera" for the location.

Latest link is interesting but I can not use because I use osx instead of windows.

If you can find the file on OSX, you should be able to modify it just like you do on Windows.

(Extensions are only disabled if the browser crashes repeatedly in a very short amount of time. A one-off crash should not unload your extensions.)

Try opening View menu: Show Developer Menu, and then the Developer menu: Task Manager. Are any of your tabs or extensions running a bit hotter than they should?

I have this problem too.
It looks messy when a tab is opened.
Because job and hobby and all was mixed in speed dial.
Also, I expect of availability to choose the default choice which speed dial or favorite can be chosen, for the next version.
All what happen was favorite gone long time before, it failed.
Thanx to remake favorite anyway.
And I used memo very often before.
I still keep memo file in case if you recreate it again with same extension, because I have to open older version of opera to see that memo.
I have OSX 10.6.8 and I cant update Opera 24 to newer one.

Hi: I see people talking about Opera support for Snow Leopard. FYI, security know-it-alls, there are 10's of millions using 10.6.8 because they don't want the non-Steve Jobs OS with the Pink Elephant OS running in the background on THEIR computer. But, that's not what this comment is about. I can't find an earlier Opera download (24 or 25) on Opera's previous versions webpage, I only see archival stuff like v. 12? Where are the others?
Can anyone help?
(P.S. I don't want to go to a 3rd party site )
Need help on installing the "1Password" plug in.

Under the OPERA tab --- open preferences --- you should see a SEARCH block with a Manage Search Engines option. I was able to make DuckDuckGo the default search engine with this option. This enables you to search with DuckDuckGo from your browser window location where the active URL is listed. Additionally there is a DuckDuckGo extension available for Opera.
Any special Mac-only things missing in Opera?

please integrate the OSX Services menu item into the content right click context menu, just like in safari or chrome, this is one of the most missed feature for me, one click access of the services os a must have nowadays!
