Hello! We’ve rolled out a new Opera Stable release. Chromium is updated to 155.0.8059.85 and the major version is bumped to 139. On the feature side, we’ve launched Web AI: local, browser-powered AI. We’ve also brought HTML in Canvas to the browser via the new #canvas-draw-element flag in Early Bird. Other changes in this release: […]

I noticed one inconsistency in Opera. I use a vertical tab bar and a sidebar, so I have tools (e.g. Tabs or various types of plug-ins) pinned there all the time; if I don't need a given tool, I click on its button a second time and it hides. I find it annoying when such tools cover the cards.
In any case, when I right-click on an empty space in the sidebar and select the option to configure it, I cannot close this configuration. I can only unpin it, which prevents other tools from being pinned from the sidebar, so I have to pin them again.
Maybe next to the pin icon responsible for pinning the element, add an "X" icon responsible for closing it (possibly next to the refresh icon)? Sidebar tools could be closed not only by clicking on the tool icon but also through this new "X" and it would be possible to close the sidebar configuration with further pinning tools. My proposals for changes in Opera (Google Document).

I just tested it and, though the changelog doesn't mention it, the update to Chromium 155 added support for displaying JPEG XL images. As a result Opera 139 now passes the test at https://jpegxl.info/resources/jpeg-xl-test-page.html.

How do I remove this?

P.S. Found it myself. Disable the #side-panel-full-api flag.

I complained recently about non-stop crashes with Opera 138, and discovered that the crashes only occur when Block Ads and Block Trackers in enabled in the side panel for all pages. when I disable these, the crashes completely stop. This same behavior is happening with the new Opera 139, any insight welcomed

@deathcat There's an "AI button in toolbar" option at the URL
opera://settings/aithat can disable it if you don't want to disable the flag. -

Hi, there, you've published versions 137, 138 and 139 within a short period of time. Have you accelerated your upgrade cycle?

Hey, in opera://activity/ I can see my other computers with opera sync enabled, but I can only see Context 1 tabs, nothing else. Since I have like five other contexts with many tabs, it would be great if I could see these too. Can you add this option?
