I use a vertical tab bar and a sidebar, so I have tools (e.g. Tabs or various types of plug-ins) pinned there all the time; if I don't need a given tool, I click on its button a second time and it hides. I find it annoying when such tools cover the cards.
In any case, when I right-click on an empty space in the sidebar and select the option to configure it, I cannot close this configuration. I can only unpin it, which prevents other tools from being pinned from the sidebar, so I have to pin them again.
Maybe next to the pin icon responsible for pinning the element, add an "X" icon responsible for closing it (possibly next to the refresh icon)? Sidebar tools could be closed not only by clicking on the tool icon but also through this new "X" and it would be possible to close the sidebar configuration with further pinning tools.
