You've done it again! This version has eliminated my extension icons from the address field level. WTF??

Congrats for upgrading Chromium to an old version, now that a new one was released yesterday.

@genegold: I figured it out. There's a vertical purple "I" over on the right that has to be clicked on to show extensions. Why Opera disabled this by default on update -- and without saying anything? -- is anyone's guess and really annoying. Trying to figure out what happened and restore what I had took a good part of the afternoon.
However, fixing that doesn't explain the Windows system restore issue.

How do we get rid of the Halloween(?) pot at the top of the SD, wasting space?

@genegold Goto the URL

, disable the flag and restart Opera. -

@karen-arzumanyan I have such feeling that they can't handle with all these issues. There's total mess in many places, which directly affect on use of the browser's basic functionality. It seems that the level of developer team or/and test team or/and QA team become significantly lower. There's also a lot of ' flattering' comments on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/

This release announces "This update is all about updating Chromium to version 118.0.5993.96. "
That is great But: The Chrome announcement says 118.0.5993.96 is for Mac! (Not Windows?)Wil that Mac version work OK for Opera for Windows???
See the Chrome announcement at:
https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2023/10/stable-channel-update-for-desktop_19.html
It says:
"Stable Channel Update for Desktop Thursday, October 19, 2023
The Stable channel has been updated to 118.0.5993.96 for Mac which will roll out over the coming days/weeks"
etc etc...Thx Raphael

Showing tab thumbnails on hover is a very inconvenient feature where almost the entire screen is closed, you can return the old tab thumbnails like in Opera Presto it was a brilliant idea all new browsers use the Opera Presto option when a small tab thumbnail appears above the return the old option please

I've seen two strange behaviors coming with this update (again):
-
Sometimes I won't find the "x" to close a tab. I haven't noticed a principle but it seems to happen rather to tabs close to the left side.
#Bug Closing Tabs not always possible -
The sidepanels seem to increase with every new click on them. Again, I have to say, because that happened some versions ago, at least for me. There's still a difference. Other than last time, the field only increases minimally, but it still increases nevertheless.
#Bug Side panels with every click
Otherwise I haven't found any issue.

Really?
For example check this issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/17azcy4/new_update_tabs_are_completely_fcked_zero_quality/ -

@andrew84 I‘ve been using it for quite a while now. There are some minor issues now and then, but not so much, I‘d like to change.
I‘ve seen some gruntling about it, but others are rather enthusiastic.
I‘ve tried Vivaldi for some days, but there were even lots of bugs more, especially on Mac. And a lot of refinement missing.
On the other hand many other browsers are really missing functonality that‘s built into Opera.
I‘ve seen many complains by you in this Forum. But if your experience with Opera is so horrible, why bother with it any longer? You can change that easily, you know.
Which browser would you prefer to Opera then, anyways? I‘m eager to know. -

@healingcross My experience is horrible not with Opera (I'm using it since when it was yet on Presto engine ), but with Opera One. I'm still using Opera daily, but pre-One version.
I don't know about Mac, I never used it.
But here on Win 10 the 'One' version is just unusable for me, the glitches (when using the basic functionality) are everywhere if comparing it with pre-One version. And instead of restoring the basics, they're implement the useless animations and similar staff. And this is not only my opinion.@healingcross said in Opera 104.0.4944.33 Stable update:

I don't. know, there's no much difference if use shortly some approved browser to make online payments and similar. Usually I use Edge or Chrome for these purposes.

Yes. I know. We are talking here about reasonable complaints about basic staff, which looks broken. And known bugs (obvious bugs) are migrating from one Stable release to another. I think you understand that one of the main purposes of this blog and forum is feedback. If you think, that if some bug is fixed after negative comment this is bad, then it's your choice.
