Opera 70 comes with easier access to closed tabs, simpler searches, and new Workspace icons

The reopening of the closed tabs only is now eliminated. The new version, where the opened and the recently closed tabs simultaneously seen is a nightmare. Before v70 the search-in-opened-tabs flag could be used to disable showing the opened tabs. Now it is not possible. Why was it necessary? It is an idiot "development".

You can't understand why Opera did this. Completely removed.
Please Opera, come back with the choice !!!

@wagnerfilho89: Unfortunately, I know why. Because the sw engineers rule the development. The users are less important.

@leocg: Yes. But when I click the button, nothing happens. Will notify APWG.
It appears that APWG resolved the issue. So far able to open bank site with no problem.

The new feature of "Search in Tabs – recently closed tabs" is really bad.
Please restore how it was on the previous version. Having a button showing the closed tabs was [Caps are not allowed] of the browser. -

I am now interested in this question. I see Opera developers are in no hurry to implement this. The bottom line is this. All popular browsers are already able to sync extensions from your account. That is, when you install a browser and log into your account, a lot of things are synchronized, including previously installed extensions. Synchronization of extensions is available in such browsers as: Mozilla Firefox, Vivaldi, Yandex Browser, Microsoft Edge (Chromium), Google Chrome. Only Opera still can't sync extensions. Opera is the best in everything, the best among all the above browsers, but why is there no such necessary function as extension synchronization. When reinstalling Windows and installing Opera, each time you have to install all your extensions from the two stores manually, instead of Opera Browser doing it for you. Is it really that difficult to introduce this feature into the world's best browser, which I have been using for over 10 years (since the days of Opera Presto).

@sgrandin I made a video of the print preview not showing page numbers and uploaded it to OneDrive.

If I use the V7 shortcut while the sidebar is open (ctrl + shift + s), it opens V7, but if I use the same shortcut when the sidebar is closed, Opera 70.0.3728.95 crashes & shuts down and relaunches

Still happens in 70.0.3728.95.
I mentioned this January 8th 2020 and a bug report was filed by @burnout426

@leocg No, the problem is when scrolling after the print preview has fully loaded. Up until this build, or maybe the previous one, page numbers popped up as scrolling through the document (at least at a reasonable speed). They longer do so, at least here. (page numbers can also be seen if headers & footers is enabled, but that's separate and shouldn't be necessary.)

@sgrandin To be clear, I'm referring here to the page numbers that pop up when scrolling through the document in the print preview screen, after the document has fully loaded of course. Headers and footers enabled show the page numbers, but that's different and hasn't been necessary up to now.

@andrew84 From my perspective this Sync button is/was broken for many year. Here's my post about it from 2 years ago:
https://forums.opera.com/topic/24711/sync-tabs-icon-missing-on-sidebar?_=1596806895552Button was sometimes visible, sometimes not (despite sync always on). Looks like problem is still not solved.

For recent releases strange things keeps changing inside browser and we - users - don't get proper explanation why you - Opera team - remove some features or changes currently working and well accepted features.
- No so long ago "Extension" button appeared on toolbar's extensions side. Do we need this? It just taking space (I don't see option to disable it). We have access to extensions from Menu button, from sidebar, from keyboard shortcut.
- This new "Search" button. Okay, this feature could be helpful, but why Opera team did throw previous Tabs button to trash and replaced it with half-assed implementation ("Recently closed")?
- Some sync problems are still not solved i.e. Tabs button on sidebar keeps appearing and disappearing without any clear reason. As one of the mods did write "Type ://activity or just have luck". Do we need luck for feature to work? Really?
- Popup video. It's really nice feature, but we didn't get explanation why popup v1.0 was replaced by slightly inferior v2.0 i.e. newer version don't show captions on YouTube, and newer version sometimes has problems with reacting to mouse clicks on buttons (sometimes I must click few times on close button to close popup)
And these are only few issues.
There are some great features that keeps with Opera like:
- News feed (I really like how it looks and is served to user)
- Integrated messengers widgets are cool
- Recent Workspaces are great too

That's another one reason why many users are missing TabMenu. If I understood it right, the button was always visible there.

@andrew84 If you're using sync feature it should be visible (at least after logging-in to Opera's sync service).
But as I can see in newer version of Opera (with sidebar settings button) you can enable/disable visibility of Tabs button so you should also check sidebar settings if Tabs button is set to visible.
But I don't know if visibility of this options depends on connecting with Opera's sync service (like in case from the post I made 2 years ago)
