⌘ + CLIC will open a new tab, while you stay on the actual

CLIC + ⌘ will not open a new tab but update the one you in !

Just download the file for Linux from this page
https://github.com/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt
and upload it here
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/

I need the 64-bit file, so I downloaded this one 0.101.2-linux-x64.zip

At least for Linux Mint 22.1. Then restart Opera.

This always works for me, and I do it every time I update Opera. It's a pain, unfortunately. Opera is a rather odd browser; it has some good points and a few annoying ones.

Arguably Tumblr is not a "Messenger" site, like the included socmeds are, so I don't know how willing they'd be to add it to the list. If that really bugs you, you can enable "custom site panels" at opera://flags/#sidebar-site-panel to achieve essentially the same thing. After enabling, restart Opera, then open the sidebar settings, scroll down to [Custom Site Panels], and add the URL of whatever socmed you want. The only differences I can pinpoint would be that the position in the sidebar is different, and you can't enable Opera notifications for custom panels.

Platform? Most likely the website is identifying the files as "text/html", which the browser identifies as an HTML file and gives it an appropriate extension. - and then your OS associates that file with Opera. The website really needs to use a correct file type, though when you save the file you should be able to change the type in the Save dialog if you try.

In particular:

I ask myself, what's the point in having user settings to stop unwanted additions to the browser.

I believe we should all suggest that as we adapt user settings to meet our own individual needs, we should not then have spam littering the start page.
