@viewer2012 The whole point is that I don't want to have to do that. I could just as easily just click the last tab with the mouse, but this feature is available in pretty much every other browser. In fact the tab menu itself should be disable-able, but is not.
Make ⌃+9 (or ⌘+9) switch to the last tab, not ninth.

Personally, I have never had to turn an open image from a web page into a new tab. But I'm not saying that I am against such functionality. Maybe someday come in handy.

It looks and behaves like the mac's spotlight or Alfred, and it would be massively useful to have a floating web browser for various search related needs.
This alone would push me personally from using opera/safari about 50/50 to using opera almost 100% of the time

Seconding this. In particular, because the dark theme, although much improved in (59.0.3228.0) is still not a true black theme, and opening this up to users to customize allows end users to apply the theme they want. Users are much more likely to use a browser over a competitor if they enjoy its look and feel.

@mopw69 maybe such "miracles" happen through a virtual machine. But you do not have to combine it. Just install the developer version on a pendrive or HDD/SSD as portable. Only, of course, indicate a different location than installing your stable Opera.
