normally the cursor and any header or footer disappear in full screen mode, however after 10 to 20 seconds the cursor alone reappears.

@vinbob Glad my observation was a help. Just kind of stumbled on to it. Some sort of anomaly. It would be interesting to know what little bit of software that was left behind, gets triggered when VPN is used.

@henner51 Anything needing Flash will no longer work. Delete all files that needed Flash. I've read that they should be converted to HTML5.

This also drove me crazy looking for a solution.
Open preferences for the Mail app. (Click dropdown menu Mail|Preferences)
Then change Default Mail Reader to Mail.
Restart the browser.

Now when you click on a mailto link, the mac mail app will open.

@m323 That page uses geolocation to get where you are, so maybe you have enabled geolocation for that site. Try disabling it.
Opera window closes when close last tab, bug?
