Hey, got a good news for you all. If you enable flag opera://flags/#dynamic-demuxer-selection issue should be resolved. It's still disabled by default in 54.0.2952.71 and will be enabled be default when 55 goes stable but you should be safe to turn it on now.

RE: Opera 66.0.3511.0 developer updateBlogs
@andrew84: Depending on status of new popout implementation we will adjust accrodingly before O66 hits stable to mkae sure . Unfortunatelly problem with video popout freezing is caused by another fix that came from chromium and with our current implementation we can't have both issues fixed.

RE: Opera Sync isn't syncing bookmarksOpera for computers
Another update. Apparently initial fix for id's wasn't working properly and we done another fixup to this. This second fix for missing bookmarks was triggered manually for @msb and @berrram accounts. @berrram could you try to log out of sync and log in again to confirm that bookmarks appear for you again? If you can confirm this works this fix will be triggered for all users.

RE: Opera adding bookmarks to speed dial all the timeOpera for Windows
@yanta this was expected push from us. We recently added feature to opt-out for this promoted content if it disturbs you. To do so:
- Make sure flag opera://flags/#partner-bookmarks-opt-out is enabled
- Go to opera:settings
- Disable 'Receive promoted Speed Dials and Bookmarks'
Please note that it's currently enabled in developer only and should make it's way to stable with v56 (or sooner when we confirm there are no unintended regressions with it).

RE: Opera has detected an unexpected change in your extensions. As a precaution, all extensions have been disabledOpera add-ons
It was our intention when introducing this mechanism to address unwanted installation of malware extensions. Thing we expected was for extensions to be disabled at most once after upgrading to build with this feature included. What you all report here with extensions getting disabled on each browser restart was not intended. We will disable this feature in stable update planned for this week.

RE: Very Poor UpdateOpera for Windows
@operaman964 @djdat @popinjay01 we have released yesterday version 52.0.2871.37 which should address freezes. It's not like we are always able to catch all issues when we release stable updates but if something big arises we attempt to fix it as fast as possible.

@andrew84: Thanks for great feedback on this. Problem is generally more complex and it affects also other UI elements with CPU spikes. Audio indicator being the most active one is actually the only one to be blamed though. We are currently trying to look into some solutions but with holiday season around this can slow down a bit, so I can't promise any resolution soon.

RE: Opera 65.0.3467.62 Stable updateBlogs
@killahbabe: Could you give us more details about your system configuration? Tried this locally and on machine with Amd Phenom II X4 965 3GHz running 32-bit Win10. I got 22% CPU load (on average) vs. 20% when hovering media icon. This is with 3 tabs open and only active tab running youtube video. On faster machines CPU difference isn't really that much visible in our environment.
Have you also tried checking if running Opera with clean profile also has this issue?
Problem we were fixing so far was not limited to media icon but any animated UI icon in Opera, although media indicator being active all the time it makes it the obvious suspect. There were also issues of media indicator interfering with other UI elements. -
