In theory, Brave should allow to opt out of all 'call home and advertisers' traffic - but by default it collects information as all other browsers.

Technically, many of homecalls can be blocked by firewall or router or just hosts file. I've not watched lately, but blocking eg sitecheck.opera.com was few years ago pretty efficient 🙂

@xb70 the method in link from @leocg is working. I had similar problems with extensions like you and I followed instructions in the link. Issue is fixed now.

@xb70 Update of my experience with Opera's download page: It seems to be working again, providing the latest version, not that old 95 version, at least for the moment. The Update & Recovery link is still problematic, failing to download, being nonresponsive, or needing repeated clicks to work, when it does sometimes. Perhaps Opera actually worked on this, or perhaps it is simply happenstance that the download page appears to be working again, as intended. FYI. Do the Opera developers or people who fix stuff actually ever look at these pages? Anyone?
Does Opera allow blocking of (audio)/video downloads?

Doesn't mention which of the various blacklists are consulted by Opera

I guess it may changes from time to time, that's why they don't mention the list sources. Some that I remember have seen are AVG, Yandex and Pishtank.

I don't think Opera's fraud protection does it.
