yeah i noticed the annoying video thing pop up just now. They still haven't done anything to fix the cosmetic and ui issues everyone has been complaining about, like the speed dial. i just want issue free browsing with functionality, and not be blinded. that is all.

To me all the pop-up video interface works correctly, also solved a problem of black flickering that occurred in the previous version, I would not let me navigate every 5 seconds the opera window went black.

I actually like the new look. But just please bring back the ability to put my mouse at the edge of the screen to use the scrollbar.

@beboss What happens if you rename your profile folder at /users/yourusername/library/application support/com.operasoftware.OperaDeveloper (or wherever it's located). Will Opera then start with the fresh profile?

@burnout426 Haven't tried. I don't plan to mess up my settings/profile and etc... Will download the previous version and hopefully will start.

I still have the problem that Opera updates itself to a newer version on startup on my Windows 11 Notebook (x64), even though Opera is installed as a standalone version and I always use Opera with the parameter "--disable- start update".
There are also no remnants of any old, "normal" installation on my computer. I recently uninstalled and deleted everything that looked a bit like Opera and copied the standalone version over from scratch from my Windows 10 machine (I don't have this problem there).
It also annoys me that Opera creates a button on the taskbar every time this update is made. I. Don't. Want. That! On my computer, I am the Master of Universe and I decide what can and cannot be done there.

@ralf-brinkmann said in Opera 102.0.4871.0 developer update:
"--disable- start update"
Where did you get this parameter?
I use simply --disable-update in shortcut + rename/delete opera_autoupdate.exemore info in the separate topic https://forums.opera.com/post/188248

That was a long time ago here in the forum. And Opera tells me completely correctly; Checking for updates is disabled.
But ok, I'll try your version too. -

In recent years, closing the last tab has always caused the browser or the entire browser window to be closed (in my case a private window). This no longer works for me. Has there been any setting changed? I can't find anything to restore the previous behavior.

By the way: I just saw, that I use the same parameter. I don't know what I copied last time when I wrote my posting.

@leocg, a bug only with Windows 11? Because in Windows 10 that doesn't happen.

@rijndael9 glad it's noted. Is there a workaround for now or have to wait for a fix and how long it's going to be eventually if I have to wait? I am asking because now I am kinda stuck using other browsers and all my info is in Opera and can't access it "(
