@burnout426 Thank you so much too. Without your trick Opera would be so much more unpleasant to use

@andrew84 I’m completely agree with you.
Moreover, we must continue to express ourselves on this unfortunate issue, until the developers respond to our request: Don’t replace the "Tab menu".

I just got the update, and I came to voice my own opinion about the desire to keep the recently closed tabs button.
I like the Workspace feature which was also added, but will not be using the Search in Tabs feature. I've already removed the shortcut for it.

I have contacted customer support asking them to bring back the feature, in the meantime I am uninstalling this browser as a means of protest until they bring it back. Yes I know you can enable the feature through flags, but I can guarantee thousands of people aren't aware of this or even this forum. I may have a small impact but if everyone did this maybe they would actually start to listen. Why is there even a forum if they don't care about user suggestions.

Where can I access the recently closed windows feature in Opera.
This used to be in a hamburger menu in the top right of the main windows, until quite recently.

When I started this thread I did think so many people would voice their opinions - thank you all very much!!!
Now, opera decision making people, perhaps the amount of feature requests here would be enough to start you thinking about bringing the feature back.
To everyone here - thank you again, but given opera's track record, I doubt they'll listen.
I very much hope I'm proven wrong about it! -

Hi, in latest release "Recently closed tabs" is missing. Instead of it there is "Search in tabs" which is meaningless for me... I used "Recently closed tabs" every day and really love this function. Why you decided remove it?
Good afternoon opera like why is that some articles are not getting impressions on news hub I am surprised over it and what is the best practices to keep moving in the industry thank you

@ericartman92 there's already 'closed tabs' flag in the latest Dev build for the 'Search open tabs' popup. https://forums.opera.com/post/210414
I think we have zero chances they return the TabMenu in previous classic view (at least in near feature). It's better to force suggestions regarding the implementation of similar functionality for this new 'search' popup where 'open' and 'recently closed' tabs will be visible separately. -

@sgunhouse tab search has to be about the most useless thing in the world. Catering to a hyper minority who have 50 tabs open at once for some reason.

@ericartman92 Yes. not exactly the same.
But it can be similar if they'll make 'recently closed' and 'open tabs' in expandable lists or add buttons to switch the lists on the new 'search popup'. As I mentioned earlier, I think that it's 99% they won't return the classic TabMenu, so it's useless to request it now.
Similar story was when they removed the unpinned sidebar on start page, there were also many negative comments, but nothing changed because they're forcing to use the sidebar by implementing new features for that (panels, workspaces, custom sites).
The same story is now with tabs, they promote the idea of 'hundreds' opened tabs at the same time and 'search in tabs' feature is one of the parts of this idea (as well as workspaces and cycling popup Ctrl+Tab). For me it's better to request making the new 'search' popup as similar to the TabMenu as it possibly could be.
I agree that most of the users (including me) don't have 50-100 tabs opened at the same time, but they (Opera) won't refuse from the idea in near future, I guess.
