Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?

I just got the update, and I came to voice my own opinion about the desire to keep the recently closed tabs button.
I like the Workspace feature which was also added, but will not be using the Search in Tabs feature. I've already removed the shortcut for it.

I have contacted customer support asking them to bring back the feature, in the meantime I am uninstalling this browser as a means of protest until they bring it back. Yes I know you can enable the feature through flags, but I can guarantee thousands of people aren't aware of this or even this forum. I may have a small impact but if everyone did this maybe they would actually start to listen. Why is there even a forum if they don't care about user suggestions.

Where can I access the recently closed windows feature in Opera.
This used to be in a hamburger menu in the top right of the main windows, until quite recently.

When I started this thread I did think so many people would voice their opinions - thank you all very much!!!
Now, opera decision making people, perhaps the amount of feature requests here would be enough to start you thinking about bringing the feature back.
To everyone here - thank you again, but given opera's track record, I doubt they'll listen.
I very much hope I'm proven wrong about it! -

Hi, in latest release "Recently closed tabs" is missing. Instead of it there is "Search in tabs" which is meaningless for me... I used "Recently closed tabs" every day and really love this function. Why you decided remove it?
Good afternoon opera like why is that some articles are not getting impressions on news hub I am surprised over it and what is the best practices to keep moving in the industry thank you

@ericartman92 there's already 'closed tabs' flag in the latest Dev build for the 'Search open tabs' popup. https://forums.opera.com/post/210414
I think we have zero chances they return the TabMenu in previous classic view (at least in near feature). It's better to force suggestions regarding the implementation of similar functionality for this new 'search' popup where 'open' and 'recently closed' tabs will be visible separately. -

@sgunhouse tab search has to be about the most useless thing in the world. Catering to a hyper minority who have 50 tabs open at once for some reason.

@ericartman92 Yes. not exactly the same.
But it can be similar if they'll make 'recently closed' and 'open tabs' in expandable lists or add buttons to switch the lists on the new 'search popup'. As I mentioned earlier, I think that it's 99% they won't return the classic TabMenu, so it's useless to request it now.
Similar story was when they removed the unpinned sidebar on start page, there were also many negative comments, but nothing changed because they're forcing to use the sidebar by implementing new features for that (panels, workspaces, custom sites).
The same story is now with tabs, they promote the idea of 'hundreds' opened tabs at the same time and 'search in tabs' feature is one of the parts of this idea (as well as workspaces and cycling popup Ctrl+Tab). For me it's better to request making the new 'search' popup as similar to the TabMenu as it possibly could be.
I agree that most of the users (including me) don't have 50-100 tabs opened at the same time, but they (Opera) won't refuse from the idea in near future, I guess. -

Thank you guys for this solution!
Disable opera://flags/#search-in-open-tabs - does work for now.
I was so disappointed when I saw this button gone and the tab searching does nothing for me, because I have never more than 5 tabs open. To quickly reach my favorite sites I simply use my well organised Speed Dial. I hate having many taps open.

Not useless. If we don't request, then probabailty of reinstating old button (or shifting flag into settings) would be zero. If we request with such massive thread, then it is a bit greater.
Remember history - bookmarks reappeared.

Hunderds of tabs is okay, search within them is nonsense [for me at least]. Well, maybe people do not know, what their opened tabs contain?
New Ctrl+Tab behavior (horizontal with few slow thumbnails) is also very disgusting - slow and ineffective.Looks like developers do not believe (or do not understand at all) that old and good structured content (trees, lists etc) paradigm is most effective way to navigate (and ist users are not dead yet). Search has its place, but replacing everything with search is nonsense.

@donq I understand, I was complaining since that time when the new 'Search' popup first appeared in Dev build (because I use TabMenu quite often daily). Taking into account the feature was implemented extremely fast in Stable version (it even doesn't support the dark theme yet, it should be still under development in 69 version, not in 68 already), they're not going to revert anything back and will continue moving in this selected direction, but there are chances that they implement the similar to TabMenu functionality into the 'search in tabs' popup after reading all these negative feedback.
- I also hate these contrast white selected items in menus/context menus and bookmarks dropdowns in dark mode, and there were tonnes of negative comments also when it was introduced in reborn3 more than year ago. As you can see it still contrasting white (but the white borders are removed at least).

I'd like to think this thread was the drive behind that, but in reality I don't know if they even bother to read any of this.

@nsx I know they receive feedbacks from the support forum, because I already reported some particular issues that have been fixed, but it’s complicate to obtain a direct answer from developers on the forum.

@sgunhouse As always the last opera update is a joke, this browser is getting worse and worse with every update, a really usefull feature get replaced with an useless one, will probably leave for another browser soon
