Hi, I have been using Opera Browser for a long time now but recently my dowload button has disappeared. It was located beside the subscribe button just below Youtube videos. How can I get it beck?

Yes, I have seen, it thanks—a couple of years ago from memory (noted that, unhelpfully, posts on the forum do not have a time stamp). It's no more use now than it was then. I mean, what's the use of a "hidden file in bookmarks"? Why hidden? This is about as helpful as a parachute that opens after the first bounce.

If indeed you believe pinboards are stored on the user's device, as you appear to suggest, please tell us where.

Oh, also noted are the references to using Sync as a form of backup. Great idea, if only sync would work, but it refuses to. I posted about that a couple of months ago but no-one bothered to respond.

I wonder how many users have given up, exasperated with Opera because the marvellous features it offers, eg. pinboards and sync, are buggy, fragile, and time-wasting when the you have to spend hours trying to work around the flaws, to say nothing of the hours spent setting up pinboards only to have them wasted when they are arbitrarily deleted for no reason. These issues should have been dealt with years ago.

I have the opera://bookmarks tab open with the "Other bookmarks" folder open. If I reload the page, it still stays at "Other bookmarks". If I leave the tab open and exit Opera and open Opera back up, when that tab loads again, it's still on "Other bookmarks". So, that seems to be working fine for me in those cases.

Could you give more specific details on how and when you're opening the bookmarks page and if you're using the URL opera://bookmarks or something like opera://bookmarks?id=2?

You can install https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/close-tab/lnchemdcmhoccciihokpdkkekmnejfhj. Then, you can just right-click anywhere on a page and choose "Close tab".

After the extension is installed, goto the URL opera://extensions and turn on "Allow access to search page results" for the extension so it works on search engine pages and on pages you get to by clicking on links in search engine result pages.

You should be able to right-click (or ctrl + left-click if right-click isn't turned on in the macOS settings) on a folder and choose "copy". Then, go in the folder you want to copy to, right-click in a blank spot in the right-hand pane and choose "paste". Or, if you want to move instead of copy, choose "cut".

Dragging and dropping should work for moving too. Just note that the "Speed dial" folder can only have one subfolders. So, you can drag a folder, hover over "Speed dial" in the left-hand pane and release, but you can't hover over a subfolder in "Speed dial" and drop a folder in to that subfolder.

I’d check that you’re signed into the same GX.games account you used when claiming them. If they’re still missing from the library, support is probably the best option before buying anything again. A “keep forever” claim shouldn’t normally require another purchase. If you’re just looking for something else to play while sorting it out, you can also use Decidal to make a quick choice when you have a few games in mind.
