This version has been withdrawn. There has been no auto-update for 5 days, neither on FTP nor downloaded from the site Opera_116.0.5366.127_Setup_x64.exe They don't know what's going on anymore, bugs are just piling up, but they didn't forget to create another unnecessary browser in the form of Air instead of dealing with the main one.

@leocg The old 116 version is still swinging from the official website, and FTP is for those who know, I didn't notice it in the list, but it doesn't change the essence, the version has clearly been withdrawn, because there hasn't been an update for 5 days, but as always, no one will say directly, but they start telling tales about the gradual deployment of updates.

@deathcat I also think, they should focus on the normal flagship browser. From a marketing perspective I see some worth in building a gimmicky browser, but here's where the sustainable win lies with long time users. Speaking only about me, I wish a reliable and secure browser, not one trailing recent Chromium versions.

Only for the record: It's really not an issue for Mac only. I made a clean install from the official website on my Windows work PC and got the same result: It's version 116 still.

@deathcat: You said: "This version has been withdrawn." re: (Opera 117 - 117.0.5408.32)
Is this an announcement from Opera or just your opinion?

Running Windows 10. I too have not been able to install Opera 117 since the announcement 6 days ago on Feb 13th 2025.
                  thx Raphael

                      Me too :
after closing the page by pressing the home button, the page closes, but the address remains in the address bar. Refreshing the page helps - the address disappears from the address bar.

                      Version : 117.0.5408.32

@raphaelbm: It's a simple logic. On the 13th, it allegedly came out and was sent to someone, it was installed on one computer during the check, but literally after a couple of hours, the update does not come to any other computer, and it's already the 19th, and it always happens when they revoke it. And who do you want an official statement from? As we can see, they themselves do not know what is going on there and are talking nonsense. They have another toy there in the form of Open Air instead of Chromium being updated in a timely manner with its holes.

A new Opera 117.0.5408.35 Stable update arrived on my Windows 10 today.19Feb24

There is no mention whatsoever as to why the base version 117.0.5408.32 announced Feb 13 never made it out there, This is really bad that Opera yet again made no official comment. Users suspect that Opera is learning too many bad habits from Microsoft.

@raphaelbm Yes, communication isn't always ideal. They call it an "stable update", although it's the first stable version for a whole lot of users at all.

@deathcat It’s pretty obvious. The update was supposedly released on the 13th and sent to someone. It got installed on one computer during testing, but just a few hours later, it stopped showing up on any other devices. Now it’s the 19th, and this always happens when an update gets pulled.

Who are you expecting an official statement from? Even they don’t seem to know what’s going on and are just making things up. Meanwhile, instead of keeping Chromium updated and secure, they’re busy playing around with Open Air.

Where do you get this information from? Do say - or are you just surmising.
I have seen no evidence over the years that Opera ever make an official announcement. Does Opera even see these comments?

@hvatok Hi there! You can easily enable or disable the 'Background Music' using the toggle on the Themes configuration page.
