Another stable version where you can't change the language to Opera on Linux. I change it to Spanish and the interface remains in English.

Unusually, I got the update notification on the "O" before downloading via Update Manager. But that was for 116.0.5366.127. The Update Manager later alerted me to the availability of 117.0.5408.32, which I downloaded. There was then "An error occurred while checking for updates" when checking opera://about/ and no notification on the "O", before restarting the browser. Debian release.

Ever since updating to Opera One 117, the browser keeps reopening after I close it. It sometimes takes 5-6 attempts before it finally stays closed. Instead of shutting down, it pops back up with a vague crash report. It's frustrating and unexpected.

@laxmibomb1:Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We believe we've identified the root cause and are actively working on a fix under DNA-119620. However, it would be really helpful if you could send us the Crash ID from opera://crashes so we can gather more details and ensure a thorough solution. We appreciate your help!

I found out what the problem was.
When I pin any tab, the browser opens again when I close it. -

@mathias87 Auto-update to a new major version may take a while to be available for everyone.

@laxmibomb1 Why won’t Opera One 117 stay closed? I exit, and it instantly reopens with a crash report. Takes 7-8 tries to shut it down! This is so annoying, please help me.

@mathias87 Are you on a Mac? In Windows I got the update but not with my MacBook.

@himmelssheriff99: No, on Windows 11.
I got this update on my office PC, but not on my PC at home. It never took that long to get an update in the past. -

@mathias87 It's the same with me: Work PC has the update, private MacBook hasn't.
But even if I download Opera from the homepage I only get version 116, still. So it has nothing to do with updates rolled out sooner or later. -

@sharmareshmi2: Hello, we understand this is frustrating, and we’re on it! A fix is in the works and will be part of the next release (DNA-119620). Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the hassle.

@mathias87: The auto-update to the major version may take some time to roll out, so it might not be available to everyone just yet. Please be patient, and it should be coming through soon.
