@ralf-brinkmann Your installation is boogered up. Yank the "profile" folder out of the standalone folder and then delete the standalone installation. Then, use "Opera_Developer_113.0.5227.0_Setup_x64.exe" from https://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera-developer/113.0.5227.0/win/ to create a new standalone installation. Then, close it, delete its profile folder and put your profile folder in there.

(Note that a fresh installation won't have a launcher.exe like Opera used to. It'll just have opera.exe. So, if you have an old shortcut for your standalone installation that points to launcher.exe, fix it to point to opera.exe.)

The patches are meant for the updater to use, not the user.

@nashuim Yes, it's clear. I just meant that 'patch' directory is some default directory that comes with every new build.

I have never looked at this patch directory. I always look here

          219ebfd5-984a-4882-98e1-a5d59cc303f0-image.png

to see if there is a new version.

@ralf-brinkmann The patch is part of the original release, check the date.

Ok, I tried to do that. But how can I create a standalone installation with this *.exe? There was not a single moment during the installation when the program asked me what type of installation I wanted. It used to be different. Now it installs itself always as standard program with no profile folder. Everything is somewhere in the AppData or elsewhere.

@leocg, the date of all folders including the patch folder and it's content is still the same from the 15th of July. It is not visible that there is anything new or fixed.

So why you decided that there was some patch additionally released to fix the issue?

                    Because of this: https://forums.opera.com/post/355866

So I was searching for any kind of fix (it doesn't come through the air to me) and discovered the patch directory which I had always overlooked. I never needed it.

@ralf-brinkmann To be honest, I also thought that they will release new build soon but when I saw a message that the issue is already fixed, but release dates on the ftp are still the same, I decided that obviously they fixed only the Aria (modul or extension I don't how how to name it)

*Fortunately, I don't use the one version so far but as I mentioned earlier I'd like to have possibility to turn off the AI (Aria) completely off.

@ralf-brinkmann Exactly, that means that no new file were added since the original release on the 15th.

Only the Aria extension was updated, remotely.

Not on my computer! I would know that.

@ralf-brinkmann How would you know? It doesn't show up in the list of extensions. It just started working for me without anything being done on my part. I don't have auto-update turned on.

@spike666, but how should they know I have Opera installed on my computer as standalone version? And today in the morning, before I downloaded the setup file again, I had the same memory problem. So nobody sent any file to me. All files have the same old date and time.

@ralf-brinkmann Because they were informed of the iit when you did the installation and also on every update. Probably when you use Opera too.

As I wrote in my other answer: Nothing can be installed on my computer without my knowledge. Except necessary Windows updates. And I hardly believe that such a fix can be made remotely to a running program. And finally, the error was still there in the morning, while others had already written that the problem had been fixed.

My other question was how I can get a standalone installation with the current setup file during a new installation. Do you have an answer to that? I haven't done that in a long time.

@ralf-brinkmann Maybe that's why you didn't get the fix?

Have you tried it yourself? There are no "options". I can only remove the four check marks for data collection and confirm the selection, after which the rest of the installation starts immediately:

@ralf-brinkmann How do you get updates to extensions at the moment?

Every Chromium browser is able to remotely update extensions, this is a completely separate process from the regular browser update.

If you didn't get an Aria extension update then the issue is with your setup

@ralf-brinkmann Go to opera://system/, Expand all details and check the extension list. What version do you have for Aria?

                                            This is my machine:

                                            igpdmclhhlcpoindmhkhillbfhdgoegm : Aria : version 4_5_0_2
