Meanwhile I think there is a problem with the web version of WhatsApp (https://web.whatsapp.com/), because other browsers also don't show the number of new messages anymore in the tab icon and there are some more problems, like sometimes messages are not send to the recipient and so on. I think I have to use the Windows App version.
