Do developers read the problems we report?
If so, why don't they fix the problems?
They do not care? -- did they want to give a damn? -

@korol78 The developers certainly do read your requests and fix your problems. It's probably a lot easier for them to do that if you are polite and patient. A coder myself, I understand that you can't just magically change a couple lines of code and a bug will be fixed, especially for a project as large as a browser. All you have to do is create a polite new topic, describe your issue clearly, and then be patient.
In fact, this update fixed nearly all the bugs I have recently reported.

@korol78 Yes, they read and take all reported issues in consideration.
However, there are some situations that people reporting those issues should also take in consideration:
-
Just because something doesn't work as you like, it doesn't mean that it's a bug
-
Not all reported issues are (easily) reproducible
-
Not all issues are easily and rapidly fixable.
-
Bugs have different priorities and may not be the same as yours

Still has a completely breaking bug of screen going black randomly. Happens on 5 different machines and has been ongoing for at least 103.

On Windows 11 23H2, Opera GX is unable to add profile icons to the Windows taskbar. The icon is blank.

@kened What version of Opera GX is it? I think mine works fine in Windows 11.

@korol78 In my case, it was less than 30 days. Let's not complain. Be patient.

@kened I think that's probably just Microsoft Edge stealing features from Opera. Opera can't stop browsers from taking their ideas. Even if they were selling technology to MS, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, really. It their stuff, and they can do whatever with it.

@bestcodes: there are times when I use what was called Twitter a lot. Losing position when returning to the main thread is a major hassle, which has cropped up in recent months. Please exert some influence.

@thelittlebrowserthatcould Did you mean that comment to go to someone else? I don't have that issue and have never mentioned it, but you mentioned me in itโฆ

@bestcodes I mentioned you as someone who has had more success at reporting problems, and getting them resolved, than I.

True, that's what I thought, too, when trying Edge. But surprisingly I found their implementations rather confusing and feeling bloated. Opera in my view is more handy.

@thebluesheep Yes, I personally prefer Opera's versions of all features.

@bestcodes Edge is not that bad, I think. But I don't like them wanting me to use Microsoft stuff, which I don't want.

@thebluesheep I think it's good for web developers (like me!) and very feature rich, but would rather go with Opera for its simplicity.

@bestcodes As I'm just a user, I'm fine with Opera in so many ways. Otherwise I'd try Firefox or Vivaldi, which would be second and third on my list.
-

@thebluesheep I don't really like Firefox's style or Vivaldi's clutter, but Firefox is good for privacy and probably my second browser after Opera.

@bestcodes You can de-clutter Vivaldi, but itโs too nerdish for me. I donโt need an email client in a browser e.g.. And there are way too much settings.

@thebluesheep I agree. I have to go now, it was nice talking.
