          On my machine scrolling is jerkier with Opera 80, while it was silky smooth with 79.0.4143.72. ( [AMD/ATI] RS780L [Radeon 3000] on Fedora )

          Well, video skips a lot of frames too... I think I'll switch back to 79.0.4143.72 for the moment.

            That doesn't work anymore. It pulls from a repository that's stuck on an older version.

            The following small snippet pulls the latest version from an up to date repository.
            (To see the code you'll have to go trough the forums )

            # Written by Davide Repetto (ReD), distributed under the GPLv2.
            # Set 'target' to suit your distribution and run as root.
            # The default 'target' is intended for opera-stable in fedora.
            # If you prefer to run unprivileged, just set 'target' to somewhere you can write and run as your normal user.
            target='/usr/lib64/opera/lib_extra'
            [ ! -e "${target}" ] && mkdir -p "${target}"
            wget -O - https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/$( \
                  wget -O - -nv -q https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/ \
                  | grep 'opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs.*\.pkg\.tar\.zst">' \
                  | sed 's/<a href="\(.*zst\).*".*/\1/') \
                  | tar -xp -v --zstd --strip-components=4 --overwrite -C "${target}"
            unset target

              You ever tought it'd be nice to allow some skinning in your browser, like we had in the Pressto era? I'd say at least some gradients in the UI would be cool.

                @hectormaciasa1979: I tought by select the "system" color scheme it'd follow the Windows color I chose, but Opera remained gray, no matter what.

                  @hectormaciasa1979 Of course, system is for system theme, dark or light.

                      As of version 79, ad blocker doesn't work on youtube. Opera ad blocker site fixes do not work if unchecked. However, it works if checked.

                      Why do we need to mark opera ad blocker site fixes in order not to see ads. Why did you have to do this as of version 79?

                      You haven't disclosed it on any blog.

                      1- What exactly does Opera Ad Blocker Site Fixes do?
                      2- What exactly does Opera Ad Blocker Tracker Site Fixes do?

                      Or are these accebtable ads permissions?

                        @aranburu12 Based on the name of the list, I guess it fixes issues caused by the original Easylist and EasyPrivacy lists.

                          @leocg: You offer light, dark and system, and the system offers light, dark and custom.

                          You would think that if you choose a custom color for the system, Opera would follow.

                          But nice try Leo.

                            @hectormaciasa1979 At least here, the custom option only allows you to have a different theme/mode for Windows and for the apps.

                              @kmielczarczyk You need 6 months to one-year release cycle with every version breaks even more for Linux users.

                              How can't you fix this libffmpeg.so every time, before you release it?

                              Lucky there is a herecura.eu (https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-94.0.4606.54-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst), who might as well change herecura to hero

                                  @vprofirov It's a legal issue, they can't do much about it.

                                    @leocg Has Opera ever come out and publicly stated the legal issues inherit with this situation and libffmpeg.so ? If not, could you let Opera know that Linux users would appreciate a clear and concise explanation of this situation -- especially as others browsers like Brave and Vivaldi do not have this hindrance/obstacle/annoyance.

                                    Thank you, @leocg or anyone else that can get into Opera's ears about this situation and explain the need for a clear statement from Opera on this.

                                        Thank you for that, @leocg ... that was somewhat helpful -- I don't fully follow that explanation, honestly, nor does it explain why other browsers such as Brave and Vivaldi do not have this issue with libffmpeg.so ... onward, Opera! 🙂

                                          @treego Either they delay their releases to avoid the mismatch between Opera's Chromium version and the library's Chromium version or they don't face the same limitations, I would guess.
