How can't you fix this libffmpeg.so every time, before you release it?
Lucky there is a herecura.eu (https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-94.0.4606.54-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst), who might as well change herecura to hero

@pinheadlucas check and try @alexs 's solution, before you replace the existing file you should make a backup of it.

This is going on for years now.
The 0.47.2-linux-x64 and the newest of the nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt are not working
This is waisting time of thousands of people every time, not to mention the new users of linux and opera, bashing their heads until they get lucky and find this forum thread or give up.
Luckily, we have the great opera community providing solutions, but no thanks to the problem creators/"developers".
It is time for the Opera-Linux devision to step up before users say to them selves enough is enough! This have happened in the past or did you forget?
@alexs 's solution is working for Opera version 79.0.4143.22 on Fedora 34 Workstation -> download libffmpeg.so
Reminder: substitute the existing libffmpeg.so in directory /usr/lib64/opera with the downloaded one and restart the opera browser

I don't see functionality to edit, so I will add a reply:
As the title explains the Bookmarks bar(sidebar) feature seems to be leading without any content.
No amount of refreshing will change this.
This makes access to the bookmarks very difficult and kind of cheat:
This problem persists for a couple of versions with some actions needed for the bookmarks sidebar to work the first time. Unfortunately, it doesn't anymore.
No such problem on Opera-stable
The problem: seems to be in the version of the ffmpeg installed from the official repositories.

Basically when trying to search a term in a Downloads tab (where some downloads already exist, about 2-5 a day for 6+ months) the entire window of the browser freezes and any other window lags, plus the rendering in any of its tabs is not consistent.
