Restart Opera
it's sad that Opera AS can’t provide this…
I think the Opera Devs doesn't care what the community wants.
I found the extension Undo Closed Tabs Button.
With right click on the icon you can fixed the extension on the tool bar.

https://mdogjafcalfmgkbemncinilkmonecidh.chromiumapp.org/...
Mit der Fehlermeldung:
This site can’t be reached
Check if there is a typo in mdogjafcalfmgkb
@sgrandin see https://forums.opera.com/post/207312
Goto the URL opera://flags/#search-in-open-tabs
disable the flag and restart Opera.
For Opera stable version: 88.0.4412.27 (Chrome build 102.0.5005.61)
Go to http://ppa.launchpad.net/canonical-chromium-builds/stage/ubuntu/pool/main/c/chromium-browser/
Search for chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_102.0.5005
(Ctrl+F) and download the following .deb:
chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_102.0.5005.115-0ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
Then unpack the .deb into an empty folder, unpack data.tar.xz there. In the folder /usr/lib/chromium-browser/
is the proper libffmpeg.so.
Copy the libffmpeg.so into the directory /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra/
(If not present, create it with mkdir lib_extra
)
Restart Opera and testing:

or https://demo.castlabs.com/
With new Chrome build go to opera://about/
and read the Chrome version in the browser id.

@gloewa Copying random version from random place is not a reproducible solution.
It isn't, but the Opera programmers responsible leave you no other choice.
Like Opera, Vivaldi uses Chromium as its basis, but Vivaldi uses a functioning libffmpeg.so. I mentioned above [1] where Vivaldi gets the libffmpeg.so from.

@alexs Are you kidding me? the linked opera-posting is from 2018!
That doesn't change the statement regarding the license.
@gloewa said:
Till few days ago all was as it should. The last update broke the video-functionality.
If opera is not able to fix it, its time to change to another browser. As simple as that.
I don't disagree with you. For me, I had to fix the video functionality myself once again.
@leocg said in Can't play videos after update:
Or, most probably, Opera thinks that even offering a script like that may have legal consequences.
Now, it is mentioned here that Opera cannot make the library available for legal reasons.[1]
However, that does not mean that you are allowed to download it from a third-party source after installation in order to use it later. And that is exactly what the script does. An official statement from Opera would be more than helpful to explain why Opera users on Linux have to make the browser functional themselves, which is ridiculous.
[1] https://forums.opera.com/post/150324
[2] FFmpeg License and Legal Considerations
Well, the special libffmpeg.so version is licensed under a license, and neither Opera nor Vivaldi pays for it, so they are not allowed to include this special libffmpeg.so with the installation.
But... Vivaldi has a very clever Linux programmer (Ruarí Ødegaard, former Opera employee), which is why the Vivaldi browser installation package contains a script called update-ffmpeg [1]. This script searches for the Vivaldi version, downloads the appropriate libffmpeg.so version, and copies it to /var/opt/vivaldi/media-codecs-xx.x/libffmpeg.so
Videos then work without any problems in Vivaldi.
Why doesn't this work with Opera? Perhaps it's because Opera doesn't have any programmers working on Linux, after all, there are many problems that only exist on Linux-based systems: Videos don't work, the Opera browser ignores the language of the operating system (only English), the browser does not remember the last window position.
About the videos that don't work for me (Debian/sid, Opera One: 122.0.5643.17):
I installed Vivaldi Stable and copied their working libffmpeg.so from /var/opt/vivaldi/media-codecs-120726/libffmpeg.so to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra/libffmpeg.so.
Alternatively, you can also use the current Snap version [2] of chromium-ffmpeg.
mkdir -p /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra
copy /var/opt/vivaldi/media-codecs-120726/libffmpeg.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra/libffmpeg.so

@Opera Dev: Please update the SourcesList file (e.g. opera-stable.list) in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
according to the latest Debian specifications. Currently the following notice appears after an Opera update:
Notice: Some sources can be modernized. Run 'apt modernize-sources' to do so.
After apt apt modernize-sources

@jedi-am
The Opera developers do not care about the Linux versions of Opera.
I have already pointed out several times (also via bug reports) that there are several errors in Opera (Linux). It will never be fixed.
opera %U --window-size=xxxx,xxx --window-position=xxx,xxx --lang=de
Because of the once again not working videos in Opera Stable (Opera devs shame on you for not supporting the Linux versions), following information for this version:
Try the Chromium package from the Linux Mint upstream.
http://packages.linuxmint.com/list.php?release=wilma#upstream
chromium_121.0.6167.160~linuxmint1+virginia_amd64.deb
unpack this and copy the libffmpeg.so
from /chromium/usr/lib/chromium/libffmpeg.so
to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra
then restart Opera Stable, this works perfektly from me (Debian/sid).
I found this Info on https://pkgs.org/download/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra
Mit Opera One (Version: 104.0.4944.23) funktioniert die Erweiterung wieder.
