It's good you fixed massive CPU leak in v70 because that cursed 69.0.3686.95 was giving me +50% CPU usage on empty tab/speed dials and options every time window was in focus.

*Good is that I prudently blocked the autoupdate (mainly because of the removed TabMenu flag).

I still don't get it why this feature was removed! 😞 Besides that I used the Closed Tab Menu all the time (and until now never Search in Tabs), it is now more complicate:

I have to make more steps to open older closed tabs. And if I open Search in Tabs via the upper right button, I have to move my mouse cursor back to the center of the screen.

          @loysek: it was 32 before.
They implemented a 'Show more' button in the latest Dev build to see more than 3 recent tabs. But I can't call it handy especially if I have only few tabs opened, why should I press 'Show more' if the 'open tabs' section is almost empty. The algorithm of showing the open/recent tabs should be reworked and depend on how much open tabs are open currently.
*For example I don't need the 'open tabs' section often because I usually have no more than 5 -10 tabs opened at the same time that's why I suggested to make the 'open/recent' section expandable as it worked previously in the TabMenu.

@homisite Yes, but not only cursor. I must first look at the top right corner (to press the button) and then move my eyes view back to the center again each time. Not comfortable exercise for my eyes I should say.

Hi @Loysek, because the previous feature is replaced by the new one "Search in Tabs". However, most probably we may be using "Show more" button for closed tabs, which is already introduced in Opera developer 71, that you can check by enabling the #search-in-closed-tabs-show-more flag, which seems to be working here.

Weird release. Too early for the Stable version yet. Yesterday there was some update for 69 version (69.0.3686.95, only for Win) and today is 70 version already.

@andrew84 I guess they don't want to be too far behind Chromium.
Chromium 85, base for Opera 71, is already in beta stage, for example.

Why was the flag to re-enable the old menu to reopen recently closed tabs/windows removed? Now there is no way to distinguish between recently closed tabs and windows
and only the last 3 tabs are listed in the popup opened when we click on the magnifier icon.

I just wonder how slowly they restore the TabMenu's functionality. It seems we must wait 2 releases more for the dark theme, 2 more releases for the ability to close the open tabs within the Search in tabs popup.
*By the way, most probably forgot that TabMenu had the 'Tab preview' feature. The old TabMenu is 2x time more functional and handy than the modern one.

Where are my closed tabs?? I've opened several sites in this session and only the last three show in the drop down.

The write up for this version describes it as primarily a search function, but to me that's backwards: it's primary purpose is as a Closed Tabs function, in which one then "searches" -- visually looks down a list! -- for the tab(s) they are looking for. How does it help me to have to search for something I don't recall exactly, i.e., sufficiently to know what to search for! It seems like you're forcing me to use History. Why? And that drop-down with a search icon is about as non intuitive as could be, because it's principally a Closed Tabs function, even if it allows true searches within it.

The last build or two had categories that left me wondering where the closed tabs had gone until I figured out how Opera had "helped" me by hiding them by default. Now, on first look this appears dysfunctional. I would have thought the UI would be obvious to work with, and work correctly (and thoroughly) on first approach. I'm left to wonder if a setting has been hidden somewhere that allows specifying the number of closed tabs that show.

The closed tabs function is vital to my use of Opera, one of the two or three most important features in my use of the browser. Please stop trying to help me by messing with it.

Dragging several tabs to another workspace doesn't work anymore. Only one of them is moved.
