@rh99 No, please, multiple windows are a curse. I can't tell you how many times I forgot I had opened a tab in a new window, closed the main window with dozens of tabs, and Opera happily saved my "one-tab session" for the next time.

@l33t4opera Thank you for the suggestions! The forgotten tabs were due to the preferences being reset. Opera had turned back to the "open the Start Page" setting so it wiped all my workspaces ¯_(ツ)_/¯

RE: V7 SessionsOpera add-ons
I'm having almost the same problem zapad3000 reported. The V7 Sessions icon disappears from my side panel -- the V7 Extensions one is still there, though, and if I disable and reenable the extension, the icon appears again. But as soon as I switch to V7 Bookmarks (by pressing F4 in my case), the V7 Sessions icon disappears again.
It's more a nuisance than a serious bug, but if you can fix it, it would be nice. If it's an Opera bug instead, I'll report it to the devs.

@burnout426 @leocg I wasn't using multiple windows, but I discovered now that my "On startup" setting got reset again to "Begin fresh with start page" like it happened in the last autoupdate.
This time, though, I'd done something that must be related to that (I didn't mention it before becaus it didn't occur to me that this setting could be the culprit so I just didn't add two and two): I re-enabled synchronization in my Opera Developer installation, which I have set to always open the same set of tabs.
To be clear, this is a bug. I'd unchecked "Open tabs" in the sync settings so that my tabs in both browsers would be separate from each other, but I kept "Settings" checked by mistake. None of the two browsers had that setting enabled for startup, though. Opera Developer had "Open a specific page or set of pages" and Opera Standard had "Retain tabs from previous session". None of them had "Begin fresh with start page" so this shouldn't have happened.

RE: V7 SessionsOpera add-ons
@vaclavz Not the dev, but he's stated several times that the Opera API doesn't expose workspaces so it doesn't depend on him "planning" to support that feature but on Opera making it possible at all.

RE: Opera 85 developerBlogs
@nadie-nada-nunca: Update: What seems to have happened is that with this update, the option "Ask me when Opera is started by a shortcut specifying an URL" got turned on somehow (I didn't even know this setting existed!) and since I have the browser set up to always open the same set of pages, it gets confused and thinks I'm opening it five times by clicking on five links on external applications. This is bug 1.
Then, after telling it to remember it should open that URL, every time I restart it doesn't ask, but it doesn't open the URL either, to the point it doesn't even appear in the address bar. This is bug 2.

@darthgtb Turns out an extension stopped working with this update and that was blocking Instagram from working properly. The Aria thing is still happening, though.

Instagram never loads with this latest update.
Letterboxd appears with a scrambled layout (Huge images and small text, no columns).
Trying to use Aria instantly crashes the browser.

RE: Opera 101 StableBlogs
@andrew84 I didn't say it's cleaner than the previous one. I said it's clean, and I said I like it.
I guess you may find one or the other "cleaner" depending on how you use it. I, for example, ditched my previous workspace-based scheme, and replaced it with islands. Now I can see all my tab groups at any time, no need to switch between workspaces. That, in itself, is "cleaner" than what I was previously doing. But that's because of the way I'm using the browser.

RE: Opera 101 StableBlogs
@daunlouded In some respects, yes. It's still buggy, give it time to stabilize. I don't like what they did to the Opera button, I don't like that the scrollbar is now not at the edge, and I don't like having all the sidebar buttons at the bottom. But the new interface is clean and pleasant to me.

@stolis said in Opera 101 Stable:
Problem is that the hole UI has been changed to something no one likes
I do like it, it's my point.

RE: Opera 101 StableBlogs
@stolis I like the tab islands feature. Give it time until they squash all the bugs.
The smiley face above the Speed Dial is for giving feedback. Have you tried clicking on it and send negative feedback? It's better than complaining.
Autoupdate is here to stay. It's what everybody else does these days. I don't like it either, but I understand it from a development standpoint. Addressing issues with dozens of different live versions of a browser would be a nightmare. All development would stall because people would be addressing old bugs all day.

RE: Opera 101 StableBlogs
Reported as bug:
Disabling “Show tabs from the same domain in tab tooltip” also disables the menu for collapsed tab islands, so it’s not possible to see what they contain without expanding them.

RE: Opera 101 StableBlogs
Reported as bug:
Context menu items for pages and images and menu items in the Bookmark bar get cut when they shouldn’t, because there is enough space for them.
This looks like a combination of improperly reserved space, where the presence of accelerators in some menu items prevents other items without accelerators to write in that area, and excessive space between the icon and the text, which gets subtracted from the other side of the menu.
