@leocg Well I understand the need to only keep features that bring value, but I would really like to directly ask the software team to reconsider their decision for instant search because it's a feature that could bring users if it was promoted (because it's so f*king awesome!). So does the development team read the forums or is there a more direct way to contact them?

@misterdoge They read the forum. You can also contact Opera through their social networks if you want.

                        @diegosdf Windows.

You can see al the versions here: http://get.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera/desktop/

Here is the direct link of latest version 67 for windows user: http://get.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera/desktop/67.0.3575.97/win/Opera_67.0.3575.97_Setup.exe

It is important to note that opera will try to update to version 68 by itself, don't let it happen. There are a bunch of tutorials explain how to do that for windows on youtube. For Mac users, All you have to do is not to click on about opera button.

Speed Dial folders stuck/flash when opening new empty tab.

When you open a saved URL from within a Speed Dial folder on the Start Page,
the browser “remembers” and briefly flashes that folder expanded upon opening a new empty tab.

WIN10-64 Opera 68.0.3618.56 Norwegian. HWA on.

What if Opera used a color to identify the active tab, as it did in the past and how is it done today by Vivaldi?! The current blue/gray is awful.

Lack of users. Hm. How do you explain then, that half of posts are talking about it and asking for it's return?

@kened: Don't bother asking. There's has being so much talk about colors but nobody seems to care. Like the withdrawal of "instant search". Take it or leave it.

@stolis First, Opera has some dozen of millions of users, so ten, twenty people don't seem to represent the majority of users.
Also, as usually always happen, the ones who didn't like the change are more active, making it look like they are a majority.

                                        So do I.
I guess that for you at least 2 new features are totally useless, I mean cycling popup and Search in tab. I laso think that most of the users have no more that 10-15 tabs opened at the same time in average. So how costly is to keep these 2 useless features?

Wrong conclusion. These 20 people are only from registered users and who are quite active on forum. Also there are other resources on other languages with complaints regarding the removed features. So if quite high % of registered users are not happy, it possible to make a conclusion that the percent of unregistered users who is missing the features is also not so small as you trying to represent by protecting the Opera's recent actions .

@andrew84 Search in Tabs has an interesting feature in latest developer build that, depending on how it evolve, may bring back one of my favorites features of Opera Presto.

First: Opera used to have a dozen of million users. There’s a dozen of “desktop browsers market share” sites, showing the exact opposite. Worldwide-March 2020, opera 2,37% usage. Source https://gs.statcounter.com/browser-market-share/desktop/worldwide and many others. There’s no need mentioning.

Second: If you-they consider that the 50% of complaining posts about the withdrawal of previous instant search feature represent a minority of users, I’ve got nothing to say.

Third: The major problem every time they add a new feature, is that they also remove any kind of option for disabling them. At least in most of the cases. Allow me to say that this behavior doesn’t look nice. It seems like they don’t really care about their users. Now you might say that this is just a personal point of view which doesn’t represent the majority of opera users, but on the other side the complaining posts shows the exact opposite. Unless I have to return back to school to learn math’s from the beginning, cause it seems I can’t really understand the meaning of numbers.

So, I’d really like to know how they end up taking decisions about the usability of features if they don’t give attention on users complains in their own blog? From where they get the numbers you-they are talking about? Seems like their ignoring them.

Eventually even the existence of this blog turns to be useless as well.
