I have been struggling with this problem for an entire day and tried every complex solution imaginable (sfc, DISM, network reset, clean reinstallation, etc.). I can't believe the solution was this simple. 😲

Thanks to your suggestion, I installed the .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime, and the issue was resolved instantly. You saved me from a huge headache, I'm very grateful! I hope this helps others who might be facing the same problem.

Installer doesn't allow deselection of options to 'Help improve Opera by sending feature usage information' and 'Make Opera the Default Browser'. The checkboxes are un-de-selelectable. One caveat: I am running it on macOS26 beta, so this could be a beta OS issue, but I've seen others have similar problems with earlier OSs.

If Opera want to restrict these checkboxes, then they shouldn't be listed as 'options', because they're not. They're already hidden behind a dropdown in the installer. I feel that's a bit of a dark pattern, too. Maybe time to go back to Firefox or even Safari.

I have not found a way to force Opera to start in a maximized window on Linux Mint. I have checked settings and right clicked on the icon pinned to the panel but see no way to adjust or select the window status at startup

Workspaces would be exceptionally useful if we could be logged into multiple social media profiles from different Workspaces. In other words, I can have a business workspace logged into my business profiles, and a personal workspace logged into my personal profiles. Currently you have to switch between accounts, even if signed into separate workspaces. It creates a lot of confusion.

Since Java doesn't work in web browsers any more (not since everyone dropped support for NPAPI plug-ins), I'm really not sure if it matters for "Opera for computers". I have Java because OpenOffice requires it, but this is one of the browser forums and your post has nothing to do with the browser ...

Hello, I find it quite interesting, because I have tried and I can not, I usually use the web version of WhatsApp (official), although I have been using GBWhatsApp for some time, and a shortcut of these would suit me very well. Greetings!
