Yes, this is correct. Opera will try to keep NPAPI alive as long as it's possible, but once the code is completely removed from Chromium it'd be a lot of work to try and keep it running ourselves (if we want to keep updating our Chromium core as well).

Chromium is an open source browser, mainly developed by Google, but also from other contributors. Chromium use Blink as rendering engine, and Blink is a fork of WebKit. Google Chrome is based and Chromium, and the only difference, besides the name, is that Chrome comes with a bit extra closed source code like flash, auto update etc. Opera is also based on Chromium, but only from Opera version 15.

New update for the Opera stable - 30.0.1835.88, the change log, and the announcement.

Highlights:

- Fix on bookmarks not accessible trough Opera menu,

- Further MSE & H264 fixes**, which also means fix for Windows N not displaying pages,
Chromium updated to 43.0.2357.125.
"We are also changing our auto update process. Effectively, it might take some time for you to receive the auto update package. If you can’t wait to get updated build, you can always update Opera manually."

That explains it. You should have the package pepperflashplugin-nonfree in order to get flash working in Opera.

Okay… thanks. Now DailyMotion works. I did not knew about PepperFlash.

Also, I checked Opera Blink still prefers HTML5 video for YouTube (good point, it did not break anything standard).

Finally, no. The issue is back again, so this was not the low latency kernel; but may be it makes the issue more likely to occur.

@tomahawk5001: On Windows, download the portable version (http://www.opera.com/download/get/?partner=www&opsys=Windows), extract the exe file (for example with 7-zip), and the output folder is your portable version. To run opera, enter the folder, and run the opera.exe file.

I had to add a sidebar extension to Opera to be able to even use it because it's unusable without easy access to the bookmarks.

Same here... RT.com crashes in Opera Developer 31 OS X.
No such problems with mainstream media or any other pages in the whole wide web.

The problem was in Kaspersky Internet Security. I first tried to just pause it, and problem still existed. Today I completely uninstalled it, and youtube works again.
