Opera 106

@bestcodes said in Opera 106:
@kened I think that's probably just Microsoft Edge stealing features from Opera. Opera can't stop browsers from taking their ideas. Even if they were selling technology to MS, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, really. It their stuff, and they can do whatever with it.
True, that's what I thought, too, when trying Edge. But surprisingly I found their implementations rather confusing and feeling bloated. Opera in my view is more handy.

@thebluesheep Yes, I personally prefer Opera's versions of all features.

@bestcodes Edge is not that bad, I think. But I don't like them wanting me to use Microsoft stuff, which I don't want.

@thebluesheep I think it's good for web developers (like me!) and very feature rich, but would rather go with Opera for its simplicity.

@bestcodes As I'm just a user, I'm fine with Opera in so many ways. Otherwise I'd try Firefox or Vivaldi, which would be second and third on my list.

@thebluesheep I don't really like Firefox's style or Vivaldi's clutter, but Firefox is good for privacy and probably my second browser after Opera.

@bestcodes You can de-clutter Vivaldi, but it‘s too nerdish for me. I don’t need an email client in a browser e.g.. And there are way too much settings.

@thebluesheep I agree. I have to go now, it was nice talking.

As far as I remember, the most stable - good version was 102.0.4880.70, then they started introducing something new and still cannot make a completely stable working version.
Sadly
This is for Windows 10 -

Another question is why Opera consumes more than twice the RAM compared to Edge, only the express panel is open in both places ?

@leocg Yep. I don't have any issues with Opera being laggy or using CPU.

@kened Known issue. DNA-112198. 23H2 broke GX profiles a couple of months ago. Opera is still trying to figure out the cause so that it can be fixed.

@bestcodes: I always use the latest version (LVL5 (core: 105.0.4970.63)), but this has been happening for a long time. I've already tested it on Windows 11 stable, beta, dev and canary. The error persists in all versions.
