Cold startup:
Very, very, very slow loading Speed Dial. Almost 1 min I look on white page. Also, sometimes background picture not load properly.marezezelj, same here::
Been posting this in the last 4 iterations of Opera (I am running O64.0.3417.54 now)::
"Opera 62.0.3331.116 interminably slow on opening first time in the morning, taking close to 25 seconds before Speed Dial icons appear. This behavior has been displayed for the past few iterations of stable Opera. In addition, when viewing a web page and then clicking on the Speed Dial icon (4 little squares) upper left corner, the appearance of the Speed Dial home page is delayed also. PLEASE fix this."

When watching a youtube video in one tab and opening another video in second (background) tab, then switching to the second tab, the sound in tab one stops playing but the video in tab one continues. This behaviour has been introduced some builds ago. How can I disable this behaviour? I don't like it at all.
Can anyone help me?

Do you have any chance to check out Opera Developer on that unacceptable slow system? Quote from the developer's blog:
In this update we are introducing technical and usability improvements to the start page experience. The new start page is faster than ever. It loads instantly when you open a new tab, even if you already have a lot of tabs open in that session. Interaction on the start page is also improved, scrolling is smooth, no matter how many speed dials and news items you have.
The new start page optimizes your browser’s memory usage, as it is now one instance, no matter how many start-page tabs you open. This feature is still under development and if you notice it causing any problems, it can be disabled via opera://flags and the shared-start-page feature flag. [...]
Let us know how the new start page performs for you.My computer has an Intel i5 processor, which is neither the latest nor the fastest, and it's amazing how fast the mentioned developer version works here. If you could not confirm any acceleration with it, you could give important feedback for the further development.
In comparison to Opera 63, Opera 64 Stable is also noticeably faster on my system, for whatever reason.

Please add "turn off for this site" in the VPN too. there are some websites that I don't want to go with the VPN (like Wikipedia in other languages than English, because you can't edit its pages by VPN)

@AlexeyGrinko So even with that option enabled, pinned tabs aren't remembered?
After first closing Opera - yes, pipped tabs - remembered. After second closing - yes, but unpinned!
I can confirm this bug on linux.

Tooltips on Extension icons show for a split-second when mouse-hovering and then simply disappear. This appears to be a bug.

Omg I just found out I can comment on the blog with my forum account! So here it goes.
Opera v64, on debian testing x64, with plain openbox, nvidia legacy 340 as the gpu driver and hardware acceleration disabled in opera.
After the upgrade, all the icons on my speed dial have changed colors to some weird ones, as seen below
https://imgur.com/a/uKAAi0bThe top image is how the icons used to be, th bottom one is how ugly they look now. Enabling hardware acceleration fixes the issue, but i'd rather keep it disabled.
Quoting myself.
It seems that the update to 64.0.3417.54 fixed the color issue. It was really comforting to see that other users had it too, regardless of os -

@jimunderscorep: other comments tell the opposite.

I don't use the 'new' Opera but I checked it quickly in .54 and for me this bug is still there (youtube's icon is still turquoise sometimes instead of default red. ) -

@jimunderscorep: I solved it by increasing the page's left upper corner (usually where's logo located) in 'heart' popup and don't spend my nerves. It's better also because the tile becomes more recognizable (solid colorful tiles repeat its colors)

What is the 64.0.3417.54 update?
Why Open the Web?
Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of its users.
When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across platforms and devices.
However, many devices are excluded access to Web content. -

@temkem Thanks, interesting that there is no blog post for it.
