      Hi,

This is to inform that Opera forums were upgraded to newest NodeBB version.
Some changes are described here (but the full changelog includes a lot of small fixes and changes):

With this release we're restricting ability to set signature, website and bio information in your profiles. From now on to add them your reputation level must be at least 1 (one). This is aimed at combating ghost/spam accounts created just for the purpose of driving traffic to particular websites.

Please report any new issues/bugs/questions in this thread.

      Thanks!

@amatczak said in Forums upgraded to NodeBB v1.9.0:

I see the "GDPR Support" mentioned in the link it why we had to log back in and fill out the consent form.

@burnout426 Yes, everyone had to be logged out and give the consent precisely due to GDPR regulations.
The consent about e-mail communication is mandatory too, but rest assured - we are not sending you anything unless you opt-in to receive it (notifications/digest mails).

Finally - this changes nothing for you, except for making you more aware of the data we need to process in order to be able to provide the service (i.e. Opera forums) for you. We are not storing/processing more data than is required so that you can use this forums 🙂

After going to the unread section, if I click on the logo to get back to the categories, I have nothing:

              0_1526216948757_29e2b061-74a7-49ae-b9a6-f182a7320156-image.png

It looks like it keeps using the unread filter although I am not on the specific page anymore. The issue does not occur on a private window, so I guess there is an issue with session information.

Edit: even after logout/login, the default page does not show categories but the 5 more recent topics.

OK, I didn't remember that I had set the landing page to be Unread in my profile. But as a consequence, I had no link to go to categories. I set it back, but I think we may need a new icon in the top bar for categories..

@mmichel OK, we have removed this button as it seemed redundant (since clicking on the logo takes you to the landing page which is "categories" by default), but your use-case proves that in some scenarios it isn't.

Sadly there's no way to show the button only to these that have custom landing page so I've enabled it for everyone. Hope the rest won't mind the slight redundancy 😉

Strange, I don't see it (and like mmichel I did set my landing page to Unread). Maybe it'll appear later. (Categories, if that wasn't clear.)

^ that's the first one to the right of the logo. Just double-checked and it does not have any specific options set that might be hiding it for anyone so everyone should be seeing it.

@joshl It's the page you see when you access the forums main address.

@amatczak Desktop - well, a rather large laptop. 1600x900 though Opera is not fullscreen - call it 1400 wide.

I think I may have an idea what's going on here...
Don't think that's related to screen size at all.
Can you check if you see it now?

OK, there was a bug introduced into NodeBB that we've released with the last upgrade.

Yesterday, or perhaps the other day too, not sure, I had trouble connecting and posting here on the forums. Was there any trouble on the server end?
"Reply" didn't work a couple of times, pages kept loading for a while, and I dropped it. It seems that yesterday my comment came through, though I didn't see it appear at the time...

It seems to happen that the user list displays single member names twice:

                                          0_1531567372887_Same name twice.png

While I was afraid at first glance that a unique member name could be assigned more than once during the registration process, I do think now that it is just a representation error in the user list, because both shown member profiles are linked to the same address.

I mention that because I don't know which event could trigger the occurence of that display bug.
