@andrew84 said in Opera One R3 arrives with new AI, Google integrations, and more:

Yes, sure. But it means a bunch of extra clicks and keyboard use.
I meant the simple right click on island and select ungroup like in Edge.

That would be good too. I like that the Edge tab-group-menu repeats 'group' in every item, making it 100% clear what it intends to do. Opera's has its own nice set of tab-group-menu options, but I don't like the inclarity of its choices:

In fact it also has a (fairly different) menu of similar choices available when you have multi-selected non-island tabs; those should also be reworded, even more than the island menu, since it's even more ambiguous:

@filbo or maybe without quite so much change:

@filbo Yes, the feature still need improvements. I also suggested earlier that there's no need to see the edit popup each time on hover (it's better to have 'new tab in island' instead) and no need for the 'pill' be displayed if islands have names. Also, tabs in dropdowns should have color indication to better determine its belonging (again like in Edge).

*If in short, it'd good just to copy the customization scheme from Edge.
The thing I see in Edge is different now is that there's no 'pin' option like previously and islands are pinned by default after closing. Earlier there was such option.

'Move tab group to new window' is not bad also.

What are the chances that we will also get the transparent app window, like shown in the screen shots? That would be amazing!

i guess my advanced is showing - i have the opera browser - it just updated and this page has come up - translation, i'm confused, i take it that this is 'different' from my current opera browser? or is this applicable to small things like phones and tablets and my desktop pc opera browser is fine - don't download anything.

@leocg i have been using the opera browser for a long time now, many years. i use it on my pc. i update when it shows there's one ready - which i did this morning. after that this page opened: Opera One R3 arrives with new AI, Google integrations, and more - the one we're typing on, there's a button to 'download' - as i said, i'm confused, do i not already have this or is it something different? if i download this R3 am i duplicating what i already have or is it different? i get that i probably sound like an idiot but i'm 'old' and having a helluva time keeping up with the myriad changes that happen at mach speeds, i'm trying to understand what this R3 is vs what i already have, which far as i can tell, already has the things that have been 'added

@pfment If you are using Opera One 126, you already have R3.

R3 is just a name for the current stage/update of Opera One

Still cannot drag and drop images out of the Opera window to Mac desktop like I could 6 months ago. This got broken in the previous update, and not fixed in this update. I have to use Safari to grab images off websites.

Will it be possible to also have the Google Services on Opera Air browser?

It would be highly beneficial to have Google Chat available in the side panel.

Does the new AI still hog the right side of the screen? Or can it be set to overlay the screen like Aria does in the old version? That has been a deal-breaker for me, so right now I still haven't upgraded to the new one again--I did once and hated it--and continue to use Aria on the sidebar, and will until I not longer can!

Why still not implementing vertical tab? Tab island is only a patch for bad choice. Waterfox have vertical tabs and is really better for anyone require many tabs opened. Modern screens are wide, web pages are vertical... stop this stupid thing to use horizoltal bar of any type.

captcha does not show when attempting to log in to make a comment here from desktop version. no captcha is required to log in from mobile version of page.

please stop with these useless ai integration features and just reduce the ram usage of the browser. all this ai tech is as invasive as it gets and doesnt help with basic browser purposes. i expect my browser to sit in place consuming as little of my pc resources as possible and showing me the videos images and texts i choose to display. if i desire an ai database to do something for me i will explicitly seek out an ai database to do something for me.

Amazing update. Thanks a lot. Split Screen feature is a great idea. But I never use it. Instead I open tabs in different browser windows to arrange them. Why?
Because split screen is fixed to the tabs. Often I have one tab fixed and want dynamically change the other one. Or I have a split left with some tabs and right with some tabs and choose and change my combination right away depending of my research and context.
With split screen this is not possible as I am limited to the chosen tabs or loosing the split. So it is useless for me, unfortunately!
