      buggy as usual.

when the player is attached it reacts (shows control buttons) even if the cursor is moving somewhere below the toolbar.

*And as I can see the player still can't be simply dragged and attached to the toolbar. This is not the hyped modular design. And it doesn't have volume control.

The idea is good but I wished for something like this more:

@pilis00 I suggested the same almost a year ago
          https://forums.opera.com/post/354720

Now I can suggest only make the player collapsible (like extensions island).
          2025-04-15_155409.png

So when collapsed only the play/pause button should appear on hover,
if expanded then all the controls visible (including volume) like was shown on their demo.

I wouldn't call it as 'music player' but as 'sidebar player' because it's limited by usage of the sidebar.
So to have the player in the toolbar I first need to activate the sidebar > start playing a music > pin player to the toolbar. A bit complicated and limited chain. If the feature means the sidebar is always active (autohide mode or visible), why I need the player on the toolbar if I can control the music on the sidebar...
The user friendly would be automatic (optional) appearing on the toolbar when starting playing media and the source of media doesn't matter.

to exit Split Screen you only need to click the vertical line between the joined tabs

It seems you're continuing making the UI for 'snipers'.

              2025-04-15_170244.png
The line is so thin and so barely visible in light mode.

And I still don't understand why active splitted tabs don't have a shadow effect like single active tab.

Btw, after I create new tab the splitted tabs stay highlighted as active. After hovering (not clicking) the splitted tabs look as background.

@andrew84 I think we should wait a little bit until Opera fixes those.

@pilis00 I just wonder how user should guess the barely visible vertical line is for closing. There's no 'x' appearing, I don't see even a tooltip.

And the bugs I reported (I believe a year ago already) are still not fixed.

So I keep this feature off. The feature itself I count quite useful, but the implementation in Opera is still very 'raw', And stays raw for a long time, I guess.

the blue bordered minimize buttons still happens here (randomly) after exiting split screen.

Also, after playing with the split tabs (moving it, detaching) I managed to get multiple active tabs and multiple crashes.

probably it's old graphics (some integrated intel HD) card, but the window control buttons flicker here on themes with transparent toolbar.

                      alt text

Themes itself work normally (I see animation as well) but after some (1 minute for example) time it can crash (not the browser crash) making the screen pixelated and with artifacts first and then recover with white background and washed out text/controls/buttons.

*In developer the buttons don't flicker, but themes can crash also.

I wish you would add a feature where you can open different sessions for different activities, like one for the workplace, where I'm connected with my institutional account and keep the associated bookmarks; one for my personal affairs and one for the creative pursuits. It's very frustrating having to select the account each time I open a new tab.

I recognized a behavior in Easy Files, which hopefully was only temporarily.
I wanted to upload a picture from my computer, but I couldn't do that, because of Easy Files. The whole bar was full of recently downloaded pictures but I couldn't get to "show all documents" as in the previous versions before the update.

@ohdiomio: Opera has a profiles feature called Workspaces, it's a bit buried in the settings, but you can find a guide here: https://help.opera.com/en/latest/features/#workspaces

@mhaworth Workspaces are just a way to group tabs, they are not meant for having different profiles.

On Opera for Linux I can't watch any videos from any source (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, FB, etc). I've tried everything and there's no way to make it work, you're forcing me to use Chrome 😞

@walterzagal: it is not so difficult to get videos working on opera:
download latest libffmpeg for your architecture from here - https://github.com/iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt/releases
And copy it to needed directory, in my case it is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/
restart opera and enjoy videos 😉
