After updating, the opening animation when I click for new tab is laggy.
        Before updating, it was smooth.

Update: Now the closing animation stutters at times.

@haired: Hello! Could you let us know if this issue occurs consistently for you, or is it intermittent? Additionally, are you using any specific extensions that might be affecting the address bar? Your feedback is valuable as we investigate this further!

I apologize for the delay. The issue occurs constantly. Any built-in themes with light/dark mode support are broken even after several major Opera updates. I am currently using version 117.0.5408.142, and the problem persists.
I am not using any extensions that modify or interact with the address bar in any way.

@haired: Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear the issue is still ongoing. Could you let us know if this happens with a fresh profile? You can test by creating a new profile in Opera and checking if the built-in themes still behave incorrectly. Also, if possible, please share any screenshots to help us better understand the issue. Appreciate your patience!

Opera stable is still on Chromium 132, whereas actual Chromium is already on 134. Chrome, Edge, Brave and Vivaldi to my best knowledge are already as well. Is there a reason to be concerned or how does Opera handle security that comes with newer versions of Chromium?

@daria19 is there any fix for this issue? It persists even in the newest version, mentioned in the topic's title.

The color of the address bar after the fix in the Dev version has not been transferred to the stable version yet? https://forums.opera.com/post/380503

Although there were mentions of this in the changelog

That's how it look with built-in Metaphoric theme after OS goes to dark mode. The drop bar is white with white text.

There's a bug in this update which hasn't been there in the last updates before. It's also been talked about in the German language forum:
                                https://forums.opera.com/topic/83841/opera-suchleiste
The issue refers to the address bar. Whenever you open an URL in the address bar and then by clicking on the start page icon on the left side it brings you back to the speed dial but leaves the latest URL in the address bar. Expected behavior would be the address bar being empty. In this case you could simply click into it to type a new address. But that's not possible with this version any longer.
There should be a fix in due time. Thank you very much.

You can just make a test standalone installation to a folder on your desktop and test in it.

@derschlingel: Hello! Before integrating a new Chromium version, we conduct thorough testing to ensure stability and compatibility with our features. This process takes time, as we need to verify that everything works smoothly before rolling out an update. Rest assured, we are actively working on it and will release the update as soon as it's ready.
