Tab Islands in Opera Air – Essential for Focus and Peace

The new Opera Air looks fantastic, and its mindfulness philosophy is exactly what has been missing in the world of browsers. In this context, I strongly believe that Tab Islands, already available in other Opera versions, are an essential feature that should be included in Opera Air as soon as possible.
Mindfulness means acting with intention and organization – but how can you achieve that when dozens of open tabs create chaos? Tab Islands allow users to group related pages into logical clusters, making navigation easier and reducing information overload. This helps users stay focused without being overwhelmed by a cluttered browsing experience.
Moreover, Tab Islands would perfectly complement Opera Air’s lightweight and clean aesthetic. The ability to flexibly manage tabs, collapse them into readable groups, and switch between them efficiently would further reinforce Opera Air’s vision of a calm and harmonious browsing experience.
Are there any plans to introduce this feature in Opera Air? I really hope so, as it would truly enhance how we use this browser!
Best regards,

@mohamedsalah That’s fantastic to hear! I really appreciate that you’re looking for ways to refine and improve tab management in Opera Air.
I have to say, though—I’m genuinely surprised that Tab Islands didn’t make it into Opera Air from day one! Given how well they align with the philosophy of a mindful and clutter-free browsing experience, I would have expected them to be a core feature right from the start.
But knowing that you’re working on enhancing the tab management experience gives me hope that something exciting is on the way. I’ll be eagerly waiting to see how Opera Air evolves—thanks for the great work and for keeping us in the loop!
Best,
Łukasz
