Starting from version 109, Opera crashes when closing tabs using Alt+Click. It doesn’t happen every time, but if you have multiple tabs open and close them sequentially or non-sequentially, Opera will crash on one of them.
On version 111, it started crashing additionally when closing tab groups. After a restart, the previously open tabs are not preserved.
Do you know why the Alt+Click shortcut is important to me in Opera? Because the close button for tabs isn’t always in the place.
It seems there’s no stable branch of Opera anymore.

@mlegoist That's bug DNA-116359. No one has looked at it yet unfortunately.

@fan4eggg Small, vague update. Lucid Mode is a CSS filter and CSS filters apparently break things with swap_chain_presenter in some way in Chromium when it comes to super resolution and HDR. Unless it ends up being something simple that can be fixed, it's likely Opera is just going to accept the 2 don't work together.

@korol78 Is this problem observed only with the mail.ru service or with others too?

Perhaps mail.ru is forcing these privacy settings, or Opera is simply not friendly with russian services.

If this is a problem only with mail.ru, then you need to contact the developers of this mail client

This is on all services, even on this Opera service
This problem appeared with version 109 of Opera.
              before that everything was fine.

In the settings, the checkbox is always immediately disabled, after closing and opening the settings page .. opera://settings/content/notificationsСнимок экрана 2024-06-16 153552.pngСнимок экрана 2024-06-16 154050.png

An interesting thing happens: if I go through the settings, there is no checkmark. But if I go through opera://settings/content/notifications there is a check mark!!! Strange!!??

@korol78 I get the glitch too. I can report it. I don't think it affects any functionality though.

                      @leocg

Google Chrome does not exhibit this behavior. I have not tried any other Chromium-based browsers since they are not supported by my company.

I know the updates take time, but we are now 8 supposedly "stable" releases since the behavior started ...

@mlegoist: Going through the same thing now. When will it be fixed? Annoying.

I'm still getting crash when trying to close all tabs to the right, and those tabs are a group or isle. Open several sites from the Speed Dial page, then select of all of them and create a group, then go back to Speed Dial and right clik and select close tabs to the right, boom!!

Windows 11 24H2. This opera version.

@burnout426 I'm able to reproduce the glitch in Chromium too, so I filed it at https://issues.chromium.org/issues/349728830.

@mlegoist Updated to version 111.0.5168.43, and it seems to have been fixed for me. No more crashes when closing tabs.
