@eugene-b: Technically but the window for an attack is very small I'd think.

I don't remember exactly how many, but a few versions ago there was a better sound icon on the card. Previously, it was on the thumbnail, now it is next to me, which I do not like. As you have more open tabs, this tab keeps expanding and shrinking, because the icon appears and disappears depending on whether there is a sound. This is annoying, it wasn't like that before and it was better.

@eugene-b That's probably never gonna happen. They have to do the intake of the Chromium build, do the necessary changes/patches, run tests, check if nothing is broken, etc before releasing a new Opera build with the new Chromium.
Security fixes can be backported if really necessary.

Why am I now being asked about shortcuts every time I open a URL from a separate bookmark application (Bookmark Buddy)? Can this be turned off? Real annoyance.

@leocg: Thanks. Apparently the update installation changed the setting itself, because the install was done today and I haven't been in settings until just now. In fact, I wasn't even aware the shortcut setting existed. I don't know why it would be relevant, but this install was done using PatchMyPC, which is how I frequently become aware of and get the latest version. Never had any problem before that way.

On linux, the Icons of entries from main menu and context menus only appear on mouseover. I see this bug on Arch Linux + Gnome, Arch Linux + KDE Plasma and neon unstable running KDE Plasma.

I'm using Opera on Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3. Starting from the latest update to O85, it ignores --start-maximized flag. Before I needn't even used it as the window was reopened at the state it was closed. Now the behavior is broken.

@sgrandin The "Ask me when Opera is started by a shortcut specifying an URL" option at the URL
opera://settings/onStartup
is enabled by default. It would only be off if you disabled it yourself. With that said, the setting has probably been enabled all along for you without any problems. Something with the feature might just have changed (bug or better detection). When I open Opera from a link in an email, it previously opened my designated start page too in the left tab spot. Now with 85 it doesn't open it, only the link page. Why this change?
At the URL
opera://settings/onStartup
, there's a "Display the start page first" that's on by default (along with its parent "retain tabs from previous session" option) that makes the start page open when you start Opera. It shouldn't be off unless you changed it. If Opera is closed and you launch a URL that launches Opera which causes Opera to start up, the start page should show then too, unless the URL you launched happens to be already opened. Then, the start page might not show (which might have been the case if you were testing with the same email link). And, of course, in the case of Opera already being open, the start page page shouldn't show as "show start page first" is just a startup option. -

@hectormaciasa1979: They are definitely planning, the only question is when? it should be already
