veduk last edited byWhat is "Cashback Web Monitor" Addon? Could it be a miner? How can I disable if the extension is not visible?

sgunhouse Moderator Volunteer last edited by@veduk My guess is it's related to Opera's new cashback program, see https://blogs.opera.com/news/2021/02/opera-dify-wallet-cashback/

A Former User last edited by@sgunhouse How to permanently disable it?
Huge memory leak coming from it (it was at 4GB memory footprint), and I don't want extensions I didn't choose.

elcool last edited byI'm also experiencing memory leak and high cpu utilization from mentioned extension since I upgraded to 74.0.3911.203. The only solution is to downgrade to previous version of Opera...

shintoplasm01 last edited by@leocg Does the flag opera://flags/#cashback not disable this extension? It's disabled by default in my version, but that could be dependent on location.

elcool last edited by@shintoplasm01 I tried to manually disable #cashback flag (changing from Default to Disable) but it didn't disable extension unfortunately.

A Former User last edited bySame here. The default seems to be Disabled, but even after selecting it to be Disabled, it's still running.

donq last edited byNo such flag here either. Even deleting extension folder doesn't help - Opera complains that extension are corrupted and then re-creates it. Dear Opera devs, please allow us to disable this crap!
I have no need to have some absolutely unnecessary code running, even if it doesn't consume many resources here.

Flags "Cashback" is "Disabled", reinstalling doesn't help.

geo-luka last edited bySame here, High CPU usage, tried disabling using flag, didn't work. But it did lower CPU usage to ~10%. Still not acceptable
